We met at Dolores Park in San Francisco, CA on Labor Day weekend. G was a very shy girl who didn't have many friends. She joined a non-profit organization that got young professionals to talk about international affairs. She met Adil and other friends like Iris, Vesela, and Peter. Adil organized a picnic for Labor Day weekend and she was invited. Jer met Peter through Larry who also lived in Las Vegas. Peter had a roommate, Vanessa, who visited Las Vegas, and Peter asked Jer and Lar to show her around. Vanessa had a great time. To return the favor, Vanessa invited Jer to visit SF for Labor Day weekend, and that's how Jer ended up at the picnic. We met at the picnic, but we didn't impress each other at all. G didn't like his attitude, and Jer didn't even care to learn her name. Who would have known, we both met our now closest and dearest friends that day.

Peter and Raena invited G to go with them to Las Vegas to celebrate NYE with their friends who lived there. G first met Larry when he welcomed her to stay at his house during the visit. She was informed that a pre-NYE party was at their "friend's house", which was also the place where Raena was staying. Who opens the door to such friend's house? Jeremy! G thought to herself, "Ohhhh, that guy! Ugh!" Little did she know that later that weekend, she and Jer would become the best of friends. One of their greatest memories is when, after a long night of dancing at the clubs, they all went to bed in a room at the MGM hotel. Jer decided that 5 am was much too early to be going to bed. So, he asked G if she wanted to put socks on and slide around the marble floor in the hotel lobby. G, being in Las Vegas, celebrating New Years, which was probably the craziest and wildest thing she has ever done in her life at the time, couldn't resist such a fun proposition and went along. That sealed their friendship forever. After many years of friendship, Jer and G finally got together in 2013.

Jer was acting very weird a couple of days before the proposal. The day before, he left for work like any other. G's mom called her and mentioned to her that Jer was going to be playing golf with her brother that day. G thought her mother must have gotten confused. She let it go. In reality, Jer was playing golf with her brothers that day in Tracy, the town where her parents reside. He wanted to take the day off work and drive to her parent's house to ask for her hand in marriage. Her parents and brothers were delighted. G has been wanting to go to Mount Diablo for a while. When Jer asked if she wanted to go there for a hike, she was very excited. Mount Diablo is the highest point in the Bay Area, and you can see the entire Bay Area from the top. It is beautiful! After the hike was over and they were ready to go home, Jer asked her to sit down at a bench overlooking the view. He got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him. She couldn't believe it and replied: "Why?!" "Are you sure?!" "Seriously?!" What a tease. Finally, she said, YES!
