Things To Do in SF

This is a small introduction to San Francisco and some of our favorite places. There are many many more and we would love to share them with you! If you have any particular interests or things that you would like to do, reach out to us and we'll try to hook you up with some places you'd enjoy! We also have a wine country cheat sheet that we would be happy to share :)
Smuggler's Cove

Smuggler's Cove

650 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94102
, (415) 869-1900

This is the Tiki bar Disney would have made. Great drinks, an amazing rum selection, and a grotto – everything you didn’t realize you were missing. It gets crowded quickly, so plan accordingly and try a lot!

Trick Dog

Trick Dog

3010 20th Street, San Francisco, CA 94110
, (415) 471-2999

The drinks here are an experience. They’re creative, intense, and might be more than you bargained for, but they’re fun. The menus are always creative, and they often taste like what they say – so when we got the everything bagel with sauerkraut and cream cheese it was not a joke. Take heed and enjoy!

Blue Front Deli & Cafe

Blue Front Deli & Cafe

1430 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA 94117
, (415) 252-5917

This is a Jensen St James special. It was the spot of breakfast and lunch in high school and has been a staple in the city for many friends and family since. They specialize in Mediterranean food, but don’t be fooled – the sandwiches are where its at. Chicken Caesar (on Dutch crunch) and the breakfast sandwich on a croissant will be the thing to get for years to come.

Humphry Slocombe

Humphry Slocombe

2790a Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

Personal opinion it’s the best ice cream in the city. Bi-Rite is good, but this is better. Secret breakfast is what got them attention, but they’ve been keeping it with everything they do for years.

City View

City View

662 Commercial Street, San Francisco, CA 94111
, (415) 398-2838

The question asked every time: Yank Sing or City View? You honestly can’t go wrong with either. If you want to sit down dim sum these are two of the best places in the city. They’re pricier than the take-out counterparts, but sometimes you want to treat yourself.

Yank Sing

Yank Sing

49 Stevenson Street, San Francisco, CA 94105
, (415) 541-4949

Papalote

Papalote

3409 24th Street, San Francisco, CA 94110
, (415) 970-8815

Just like any city with a staple – New York Bagels, Chicago Deep Dish – everyone in San Francisco has their favorite burrito spots. These are two of ours. El Farolito is the classic feel (the one on Alabama – trust us the difference is huge), and papalote is the modern feel. If you go to Papalote the refried black beans are always the way to go. Additionally, if you happen to find yourself on the west side of the city, El Burrito Express has been a St James family spot for over 20 years.

Taqueria El Farolito

Ferry Building

Ferry Building

San Francisco, CA 94111

The Ferry Building lies at the heart of the embarcadero. It connects Aquatic Park and Fisherman’s Wharf to the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park. You can take a ferry to Alcatraz, Sausalito (Marin), Angel Island (outdoors), Alameda (for St George and Hanger One distilleries, breweries, wineries, etc.), or Oakland (Jack London Square). You can visit the Exploratorium, Ghirardelli Square, or walk a little farther and take the Fort Mason cut across all the way to Chrissy Field and Fort Point.

Mission District

Mission District

San Francisco, CA

At this point, the Mission is one of the city’s most important nightlife destination. It’s got great food, great drinks, live music, and cool art. Its hip, its trendy, sometimes its difficult how hip and trendy it is.

Ina Coolbrith Park

Ina Coolbrith Park

Vallejo & Taylor, San Francisco, CA 94133
, (415) 274-0291

One of the smallest parks in the city that gives undoubtedly one of the best views of the bay. A great place to take a picnic, or just stroll through on your way to Chinatown/North beach.

Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach

San Francisco, CA

When most people think of California beaches, they think warm and sunny. Maybe even of surfing and playing volleyball. That’s LA. Ocean Beach is cool and refreshing, relaxed and beautiful. Bring a jacket and plan on walking along the water, exploring Sutro Baths, and if you’re up for a walk, taking one of the Land’s End trails along the coast.
