Flight
A Coruña airport (LCG) is the most convenient airport to fly into, it's only a short 15 minute drive from the city centre. There are direct flights with Vueling from London Gatwick and several flights from Madrid and Barcelona daily. From Canada we usually fly with Air Canada to MAD via YUL or YYZ and then take the high speed train (3.5hrs) to Coruña. This is a great option if you wish to explore the capital of Spain for a few days, but please keep in mind Madrid is extremely hot in August! Air Canada now code shares with Iberia so it may be possible to book from YHZ-LCG on one ticket. Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) is the second closest airport and services several domestic lanes within Spain & Europe. Santiago is approximately 35 minutes by car or train. Just note, the train station is located on the other side of the city so you would need to take a bus or taxi if going directly from the airport to the train station.

Travel Note
Galicia is part of "Green Spain" and promises a very different adventure from the South. Renowned for it's seafood, top quality produce, meat and wine it's gastronomy highlights the best from the sea and the land. Breathtaking scenery and dramatic landscapes full of dense forests, and green valleys contrast with charming coastal towns, fishing ports and picturesque beaches. Galicia has so much to offer! If you are looking for onward travel after the wedding we have recommended some of our favourite places within Galicia: -Rías Baixas: Galicia's most celebrated wine region producing excellent white wines. Pazo Baión is our favourite winery and well worth a visit! Look out for "Furanchos" which are typical & unique in this area, they are private restaurants in a family's home that offer homestyle cooking and surplus wine from the family's harvest. -Cambados: a charming town in the heart of the wine country. -Sanxenxo: a hot spot in the summer months; beach, bar, eat, sleep! -Vigo: the largest city in Galicia. -Playa de Lapamán in the town of Bueue: a beautiful beach with chiringuitos (small bars offering drinks, snacks and music) excellent restaurants, kayaking and paddle boarding. -Santiago de Compostela: the capital of Galicia and the end of the Camino or the St James Pilgrimage. The cathedral is stunning and you will surely see several pilgrims completing their way!
