He enthusiastically accepted and motioned for the girl and her roommate to get in the picture with him and a friend. So, they have documentation of the night they met. Four years later, they returned to retake the photo — this time, as an engaged couple. For weeks, Yohary reminded Jenny about his work's annual summer picnic. This year, it was being held in Central Park. Yohary shared a brochure with details of the event, titled "Summer Shindig." Jenny knew it wasn't a trick. She'd never heard Yohary use the word "shindig" in his life. So, she prepared for the work event. Yohary *politely* suggested that Jenny should paint her nails and wear a nice dress. She got the hint, assuming he was concerned about impressing his colleagues. So, she visited the nail salon and threw on a green midi dress and they began their 15-minute walk to Central Park. On the way, Yohary pointed out the row boats and commented on the beautiful weather, joking that she'd certainly make it to 10,000 steps as the walk dragged on. Jenny suggested that maybe he was lost. But as they walked through a green path with a brick archway, he directed her around the corner and down stone steps to a beautiful view of the water. On the left, a big bouquet of white roses was waiting for her on a wooden bench. He said, "I lied. There is no picnic. I just brought you here to ask you a question." He got down on one knee and popped the question. She said, "Yes!" Then he asked again in Spanish (just to be sure). She said, "Si!" A photographer and their best friends, Xavier and Mirm, came out of their hiding spots to celebrate. Afterward, they snapped pictures and went to a nice dinner planned by Yohary followed by a surprise outing to the place they met in Brooklyn.
