Channel Islands National Park

The Channel Islands National Park is just off the coast of Ventura / Santa Barbara and they are breathtaking. If you have the time we would highly recommend taking a trip out to see them. Island Packers (and other companies) offer island trips, whale watching, and kayaking trips around them. Santa Barbara

Pacific Coast Highway

The directions driving up from LA will probably take you via the inland route, but if you have some time the drive up the Pacific Coast Highway (route 1) through Malibu is very pretty and you can stop at Neptune's Net or Broad Street Oyster Company and get some good seafood.

The Getty Center

The Getty is a beautiful museum of art w/ amazing views of LA. It's free to visit (you just need to get tickets ahead of time) and just North of LA.

Ventura Botanical Gardens

Beautiful walk with ocean views and cool plants. Great for a morning stroll or catching the sunset. Warning: this is fairly steep, not handicap accessible.

Ventura Pier & Promenade

Classic Ventura vibes! Walk along the pier, grab some Beach tacos, seafood at Eric Ericssons, or beers at Madewest. Or just hang out and watch the waves.

Ventura Beach Bike Trail

Rent a bike and cruise along the coast for some fresh ocean air and beautiful views. Easy and relaxing!

Arroyo Verde Park

A scenic spot with easy-to-moderate trails, perfect for getting some fresh air and stretching your legs.

Downtown Ventura

Cute shops, cool street art, and plenty of places to grab food or drinks. Main Street is currently closed to cars but open for pedestrians- perfect for wandering around, exploring some breweries, and doing some shopping.

Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic patio, craft cocktails, and super tasty Belizean dishes.

Paradise Pantry

A dreamy spot with wine, cheese boards, and gourmet comfort food. Perfect for a chill yet classy meal.

Spencer Makenzie's

Famous for their fish tacos and “the best” poke around. A Ventura staple! Has another location in Camarillo.

Bright Spark Brewing

Laid-back brewery with great craft beers. A solid spot to kick back and catch up with friends. Family- friendly. No outdoor space.

Ten Tigers Bar / Cafe Coffee

By day, it’s a killer coffee spot. By night, it turns into a sleek cocktail bar. Either way, it’s a must-stop.
