Jordan and Jenny met through mutual friends at a Halloween party in 2015. Despite hanging in the same circle of friends for more than half of a decade, we never crossed paths. All that changed on Halloween night 2015 when a cowboy and a witch made eye contact at a house party in West Hollywood. We went ice-skating for our first date in Santa Monica and three weeks later Jenny traveled to Minnesota to spend New Year's Eve with Jordan and met (nearly) his entire immediate family. The rest is history!
We love traveling and took our first trip as a couple to Santa Ynez Valley and Los Olivos, wine country in the Santa Barbara Mountains. Over the years this special area has become like a second home to us where we have celebrated birthdays, major milestones and long weekends with friends and family. In February of 2019, Jordan planned a surprise trip to Santa Ynez Valley three years to the weekend of our very first trip there! On Saturday morning, he woke up early as always and snuck-out of our Airbnb while Jenny was sleeping to pick up breakfast. When he got back, Jenny could tell something was up. Suddenly, Jordan reached under the bed, pulling out a little black velvet box. The proposal was absolutely perfect, and totally us. We spent the rest of the weekend wine tasting with friends new and old!
La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, is nestled at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains in the Sonoran Desert near Palm Springs. Dubbed the original desert hideaway, this historic resort is one of only two hotels in the country to have a city named after it! Since it officially opened in 1926, La Quinta has hosted its fair share of world leaders and Hollywood royalty - old and new. Ginger Rogers was married here, Frank Capra wrote "It’s A Wonderful Life" (Jordan's favorite movie) in his casita on the property, and Greta Garbo had her own private villa where she regularly retreated from the spotlight (and where we will be married on Saturday, October 16!). We love La Quinta and hope you will be able to experience the many touches that make the "Gem of the Desert" so special to us and many others.
