Best friend since birth!!! Lauren has been someone I've literally and figuratively looked up to all my life - where she goes, I go; what she does, I do. This has also been evidenced by the fact that Foster and I are getting married just months after her and Jason tied the knot <3 She has taught me the power of commitment and showed me by example how to love people well.
Best Man
Foster and Matt met in medical school and sat together in the back row. They currently live together just a few miles from the wedding venue. Matt is a secret genius and helped Foster study for every test in medical school. If carrying Foster through medical school through medical school wasn't enough, Matt has put up with two years of Foster basically not cleaning the house at all (sorry Matt). What a friend!

Meeting Grace Anne for the first time was like a breath of fresh air. She is thoughtful, generous in the way that she cares for people and has the kindest disposition. Not to mention she is making me a aunt by way of a very sweet chihuahua named Pancake!!!

Foster and Sturman met at the College of Charleston through Jackson and Harlan. Mutual ambition for competitive postgraduate plans led to the two quickly becoming friends by keeping each other company on long nights in Addlestone library. Zach is a fiercely loyal friend who has helped Foster reason through difficult situations countless times.
Bridesmaid
I owe this friendship to our moms, Kathy and Lynn, for dropping us off at the same preschool. My oldest memories involve Kathryn - from youth soccer, to all-nighters playing ~sims~ and everything in between. Kat has been by my side through every stage and adventure and just makes life so fun. She is outrageously humble and has unshakable character - two things I will always look up to

Arriving in Charleston only a few months after Foster's departure, Kevin could easily have been labeled Foster's taller and better looking replacement. Where they originally met is a perfect snapshot of the friendship: sitting on surfboards at the washout. Kevin sure knows how to win a person over and after a compliment of two on Foster’s surfing ability, the two became good friends. Kevin has been there for Foster throughout his relationship with Jenny, offering Jesus centered advice and always being willing to talk surfing.

Courtney is truly one of the best friends I've ever had and she also happens to be my cousin. She is the human embodiment of spontaneity, while also being more down to earth than soil itself. My love for surprises has stemmed from celebrating birthdays and life events by Courtney's side - there are very few people that could convince me not only to jump out of an airplane, but find so much joy and excitement while doing so.

Harlan and Foster met freshman year of college through the watersports club. Since Foster had a car, Harlan quickly jumped on the opportunity to be friends with someone who could take him surfing. After many trips (usually to surf), from Costa Rica to Spain to Leesville, South Carolina Harlan has proven himself to be an amazing friend.

Who Lauren hung out with in highschool, I hung out with in highschool. Luckily, one of those people was Laurel. She stepped in as surrogate older sister for me when Lauren went to college and Laurel hasn't been able to shake us since <3 She has the kindest heart, is easily one of the funniest people I've ever met and is fiercely loyal. She's going to be the coolest mama bear on the block come May!

Jackson was originally Harlan’s friend who also needed a ride to the beach to surf. After Foster begrudgingly agreed to cramming another person into his tiny 97 wrangler, the two realized they had a lot in common even beyond surfing. Jackson and Foster went to church together throughout college. Jackson lives in Rhode Island, but has stayed a great friend, always willing to pick up the phone to talk about our recent surf sessions.

From the first day I met Becca freshman year at Pepperdine, there was really no doubt in my mind that she would always be in my life. Consistency and steadiness is built into her bones - she shows up for her people and never fails to show out on the dancefloor!!! With Becca, I never have to fear about going through things alone because I know she will always be right beside me, cheering me on.

Zach and Foster met their first semester of college in a Freshman biology class. After freshman year Zach lived with Jackson and Harlan which meant Foster saw him frequently. By the end of college Foster had grown as close to Zack as anyone else in the group. Zach is kind, patient, and always willing to pick up the phone to catch up.

I'd like to think that being friends with Emma has made me a better friend through osmosis (that's how being roommates works right??) Emma exudes joy, thrives off of a blank canvas and encourages like no other. We have covered quite of bit of ground together and she makes the experiences we share so meaningful and undeniably more fun. She's also the most amazing momma to one of the cutest lil beans in the world!!

Jason and Foster met through the Roth girls. While Jenny was living in Dallas, Jason was always willing to let Foster stay at his and Lauren’s house. Jason is always willing to give Foster advice on finance or his Golf swing. Throughout the dating and engagement process, Jason has been there to help Foster. He will surely be an amazing Brother in law.

Despite only spending one year in-person together at Pepperdine, it feels like Charlotte and I have been friends since childhood. Charlotte wastes no time when investing in friendships - she has an all-in personality and never misses a beat in making you feel validated, seen & loved. The first few months Lauren & I lived in Dallas overlapped with her time interning there over the summer and she very justly earned the title of "Sister Lottie" for being the most perfect third roomie

Grayson and Foster met slightly later in college through Jackson and Harlan. Grayson was also pre-med and very intentionally set out to become friends with Foster. Once after driving 6 hours to Jacksonville, FL to surf a perfect hurricane swell, Foster was hit in the face with a surfboard and needed to go to the hospital for stitches. Although Foster insisted he drive himself, Grayson gave up surfing perfect, barreling waves to drive Foster to the hospital.

Senny is an adventure!! She has an inherent nature of marching to the beat of her own drum and is so infectious to be around. The best part about her though is that what she brings in goofiness, she follows up with in depth. Some of my most memorable heart to hearts have been with Senny, while doing things like rollerblading or going for a leisurely jog in the rain.

If it weren’t for John, Foster wouldn’t have met Jenny. The two became close friends after Foster finished college when they began going to the skatepark together on almost a daily basis. Foster was lucky enough to attend John and Emma’s intimate backyard wedding during COVID. Being married to one of Jenny’s best friends and also a fellow believer, John has been able to offer Foster Jesus centered advice throughout his relationship with Jenny.

What started off as a fun hike to the Jim Morrison cave in the hopes of making friends freshman year, resulted in meeting Allie, many tears, an existential crisis and eventually committing my life to Jesus. What a whirlwind and what a friend!!! Allie's enthusiasm and passion are palpable when you're around her and her steadfastness are just one of the many reasons why I'm forever grateful to call her a friend

Clay and Foster knew each other in college, but became close friends after college at the skatepark. A true natural leader, there is something about Clay that makes you want to follow him. He has a servant’s heart and is the kind of friend that shows up and gets things done when you need him. Clay came to the backyard where Foster proposed to Jenny to help set up and pray for the proposal.

Sav is a visionary. We are going on eight years of friendship now and I still find myself in awe of her. She cares so deeply about issues that matter, stands up for what she believes and invests her time in the people she loves. I can always count on Savannah to say yes to crazy ideas or plans I pitch and she will forever aid and abet my coffee intake

Erich and Foster originally met when Erich came to Charleston to visit Clay. Erich was surfing for one of the first times on a pretty big day and impressed Foster with his perseverance and good attitude. Erich has since become a great surfer and a very good friend to Foster. Erich is kind, thoughtful and easy going. Erich is the kind of friend who is able to make you feel that he is there for you without even saying a word.
