Chances are we wouldn't be writing this if it weren't for the Schumachers - John & Emma. In the midst of the pandemic, John and Emma initially planned a destination wedding in Dominican Republic. Foster was in his second year of med school at the time and likely wouldn't be able to swing the trip. Thanks to travel restrictions (or divine intervention - you decide) the destination wedding turned into a backyard wedding in Charleston, SC. Following their vows and Emma's surprise mariachi band, we had time to kill before dinner started and Jenny noticed Foster on the outskirts of the group. Thinking he looked like he needed someone to chat with, she pulled up a chair and struck up a conversation - meanwhile Foster thought he was being hit on. Fast forward a few months to New Years Only having kept up via sporadic Instagram dms, we both ended up in Charleston again to ring in 2021. Jenny went to see Emma and John, while Foster headed there under the premise that Jenny was interested in him thanks to a true-to-form Emma scheme, unbeknownst to Jenny. As the weekend unfolded, Jenny grew curious why Foster seemed so interested in spending time with her. The last day of her trip, Jenny was at lunch with Bowen, Anna Tate and Emma when Foster's name not only came up in conversation as a potential love interest, but also appeared on Jenny's phone, apologizing for a banana peel on the floorboard of his car when they picked up pizza for the group the night before. The unnecessary apology (which was clearly a ploy to continue conversation) combined with the excitement of her friends at lunch brought Jenny to the realization of what was going on - Foster was interested and making an effort to get to know her. The weekend came to a close, but the conversation kept rolling. After a few weeks of texting and handful of facetimes, Jenny suggested a visit was in order which received the response "Hmm, let me think about it". Finally, Foster came to HIS SENSES (thanks to a helpful facetime from his friend Davy), gave the green light and a few days later picked Jenny up from the Raleigh airport. After a fun-filled weekend of in the great town of Buies Creek, NC, we decided to keep getting to know each other despite the distance. And while the distance won't actually shorten until May 20th, 2023 it's been worth every ounce of effort!!!!
