FAQs

Question

Are there any Covid-19 restrictions or requirements for traveling to Maine?

Answer

We are keeping a close eye on Maine's protocols and we will keep our website up to date over these next few weeks if the rules for gathering change. We will be sure to be in touch if there are any major changes or if we have to limit the number we can safely have as the date gets close. Thank you all for your continued love and support during this time! Masks are required on all buses to and from wedding activities as well as a number of places around town. Please make sure to bring one!

Question

Why are we traveling to the Rangeley Lakes?

Answer

Jenny grew up spending her summers on this lake with her family and Artie quickly grew to love summer and fall weeks spent there, too. We totally understand that travel is tricky with Covid-19 and that it may not be in the cards for you. We totally understand!

Question

What's the difference between Rangeley and Oquossoc?

Answer

Oquossoc is a village within the larger town of Rangeley. It is a 10 minute drive from the center of Rangeley to Oquossoc.

Question

What's the weather like in September

Answer

It varies! Plan for warm(ish) days, cool evenings, sun, and rain. We know it's the first week of September, but we still highly recommend bringing a light down jacket. The key is packing layers and options so that you stay warm and dance the night away with us!

Question

What should we pack?

Answer

During the day pack clothes for outdoor adventures: hiking boots or sneakers, golf clothes and clubs (if you're playing), athletic clothes, a tennis racket, and a bathing suit. The ceremony and reception will take place on grass so wear wedges, block heels, flats, or whatever will keep you on the dance floor with us all night! Temperatures at night do drop, so bring a layer.

Question

What are the hotels like in town?

Answer

They are probably more rustic than other weddings you have attended. I promise they are filled with charm! AirBnB is also an option, but busses will only be running between the listed hotels. We hope you love the relaxed, rustic, charm of the region as much as we do!

Question

Where should we get breakfast?

Answer

Check out The Rangeley Inn (Rangeley) or Oquossoc Grocery (OG has delicious breakfast sandwiches).

Question

Where can we pick up lunch for a hike?

Answer

Oquossoc Grocery (if you're staying in Oquossoc) or Classic Provisions (if you're staying in Rangeley). Make sure to try the Oquossoc Grocery's lobster rolls.

Question

Best ice cream in town?

Answer

The Pine Tree Frosty (moose tracks and Maine deer tracks are not to be missed).

Question

Are Ubers available in Rangeley?

Answer

The region does not have Ubers or taxis but busses will be doing loops on Saturday night between the hotels with room blocks and the wedding.

Question

Is there a gym in town?

Answer

Yes, there is a great gym at the Rangeley Health and Wellness Center https://rrhwp.org/ if the weather is bad. But I'd highly suggest opting for one of the activities on the "things to do" page if we get nice weather :).

Question

Kiddos

Answer

Jenny's happiest childhood memories are from spending time in Oquossoc with her sisters and cousins and we're sure that your kids will love it, too. However, we kindly ask that our wedding ceremony and reception are for adults only. If you plan to bring the kiddos, call the The Rangeley Inn and Bald Mountain Camps for babysitter suggestions and they can help!
