Carytown
A great shopping street with numerous local vendors, shops, and restaurants.
Maymont Park
A beautiful (and free!) park that features various decorative gardens, a nature center, animal exhibits, and a petting zoo.
Belle Isle
A historic island located in the middle of the James River and accessed by a bridge suspended beneath a major roadway (yes, you can feel it swinging on many days). Home to many walking trails and a good bit of history.
Downtown Ashland
Proudly calling itself “The Center of the Universe”, downtown Ashland features several locally owned shops, restaurants, and art galleries, all centered around the railroad which led to the town’s establishment.
