Scott and Chelsea met on a pier in Pearl Harbor at the homecoming for his first submarine deployment. Chelsea was actually not there to meet Scott- but instead visiting Hawaii to join her sister in welcoming home her husband from that same deployment. Although Scott had spent the last six months submerged in the dark, this was not the first time he had heard Chelsea's name. During the deployment, a few of his fellow officers had been sent back to Hawaii early and then returned to the sub claiming they had met Scott's "match". Turns out, you get to know someone after being locked underwater together for some time... they nailed it. After a few dates in Waikiki and Kaneohe, and some ridiculously early family vacations together, it became clear that the relationship was more than a summer fling. From there Chelsea took the leap of faith to fully move to Hawaii, where they enjoyed incredible days hiking, beaching, and poke eating. Unfortunately, these days of bliss were short lived when Scott's sub was sent back out for another, even longer, deployment. During this time apart, they were challenged to select Scott's next duty station despite the near nonexistent communication possible. From this chaos spawned the spontaneous idea of putting Italy at the top of Scott's preference sheet, never thinking it would actually come to fruition. When Scott finally returned home from his second deployment, he dropped the surprise of a lifetime: he had received his top pick, and would be spending the next 3 years in Naples, Italy. Talk about shock and awe. Pure excitement turned to the realization that moving to a foreign country presented obstacles. While watching the sunset in Maui, they decided they would make their second big leap of faith: eloping to ensure their lifetime together going forward. The rest is history: Scott and Chelsea are now living their life of amore in Italy.

Life takes you places you don't necessarily expect. While we feel incredibly blessed and have loved our life of travel and adventure together thus far, we both also feel a great desire to finally bring our friends and families together to celebrate our union. We would be so honored if you all would make the journey to celebrate our love, experience our Italian lifestyle, and come together as a part of our forever family.
