Rib Mountain State Park
If you park at the bottom of the mountain, or in the Bone and Joint parking lot after 6pm it is free. If you wish to drive to the top you will be required to pay the WI State Park Admission fee.
Nine Mile County Forest Chalet
This is a great hiking trail that is mostly flat. Bring some bug spray as you are walking on dirt trails in the woods.
Dells of the Eau Claire County Park
The waterfalls and hiking are wonderful! A little hidden gem in a small town.
Wausau and Marathon County Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department
Visit the website for local summer public pools and park areas in Marathon County. Pools are around $4/person and oh so refreshing on hot summer days or evenings!

Wausau on the Water (W.O.W.) has a nice river walk, outdoor obstacle course, playground, fitness equipment and local favorite soft serve spot. Plus the indoor space boasts a bar, restaurant, arcade and laser tag. Fun for the whole family!

A family owned and operated soft serve staple of near by Stevens Point. Try the Blue Moon ice cream that Wisconsin is known for. It is bright blue and tastes like Fruit Loops cereal!

Their parking is limited, but street parking in the area is easy as long as the local Wisconsin Woodchucks baseball team is not playing at the stadium next door.
