We met through Bumble, the dating App. With Jenny working as a first-year Art teacher and John working as a graphic artist and amazing Dad, the web was the best way to expand our connections. Our first date was set for viewing the fire works on July 4th at the Marathon County park celebration. The night of the event we enjoy the festival and John talks Jenny into going on a ride that goes upside down! Now, if you know Jenny she is constantly getting motion sick, but she was trying to impress John. A warning was given before the ride started, but Jenny survived. Jenny’s adventurous spirit and sense of adventure drew John to her. The time for the fireworks came and it began to rain hard! We ended up drinking beer in a tent and dried off while the fireworks got rescheduled. The fun was heightened by the rain, and the connection began. Our summer blossomed as did our relationship. Jenny and John can’t wait to start this adventure!
John and Jenny are excited to be getting married at a private ceremony on July 26, 2022, in Riomaggiore Italy. Riomaggiore is the most southern village of the Cinque Terre, situated just a few minutes by train from La Spezia. The Cinque Terre, five towns, is a string of five fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera in the region Liguria, which until recently were linked only by mule tracks and accessible only by rail or water. An ancient system of footpaths is still the best way to visit the five villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces to cultivate grapes and olives on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean Sea. The breathtaking views of harbors far below the wild but hospitable coastline along with the medieval fortresses and plentiful vines and vibrant colors make this a memorable holiday. It is quite sure that the origins of Riomaggiore date back to the 8th Century, when the inhabitants of the Vara valley, searching for a milder climate to raise grapevines and olive trees without the fear of pirates raids, moved towards the coast. Riomaggiore climbs up along the ridges overlooking the sea and it is characterized by the typical stone houses with colored façades and slate roofs. In Riomaggiore starts the Via dell’Amore, Lover’s Lane, a wonderful path known for the romantic atmosphere and amazing landscapes. John and Jenny are thrilled to be starting their life together with a romantic start in this magical place. The vows will be recorded and shared with you all at our celebration on August 27th.
