We love good food and Portland is FULL of amazing eats. Visit a food cart pod or one of our favorite restaurants like Eem, Nimblefish, Ava Genes, Willow, Coqine or Nuvrei bakery. Brunch happens everyday in Portand so ENJOY!
Powell's City of Books
The largest independently owned and one of the most famous bookstores in the US! Takes up a whole city block and goes on forever. 50 min from Skamania.
Multnomah Falls
Easy access waterfall, right off the road. 20 minutes from Skamania.
Hiking!
There are a ton of hikes and waterfalls to visit in the area. Get out and enjoy!

Great brewery across from the river. Solid food and a lot of styles from which to choose!
Cannon Beach
Site of the famous Haystack Rock. The whole coastline is beautiful and worth a visit for those venturing further afield. 2 hours from Skamania.
Willamette Valley

Hood River
The drive to and from Hood River from Skamania is beautiful. On the way back, drive over the river and stop at the White Salmon Bakery for a treat, then drive back on the Washington side to see amazing views of the town and Mt. Hood. If you're lucky, you'll catch dozens of wind surfers and other water sports on the river. Don't forget to stop in at one of the local breweries and walk the adorable downtown boutiques.
Horsetail Falls
Walk behind a waterfall! Only 16 minutes from Skamania Lodge along the Columbia River Gorge. Begin at Horsetail Falls Trailhead and take less than a 1/2 mile hike to the falls.
