In the age of online dating we met on an app—but not the kind of app you would expect. It was September of 2015, and Jen had just gotten back to Washington DC, where she was about to start her third year of law school. She had just accepted a job in Miami after graduation. She was totally unattached, and ready to enjoy her last year in DC. To kick off the year, Jen and her friends attended a 90s bar crawl in DuPont circle on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Jen was totally decked out in overalls, butterfly clips, glitter, and her original Spice Girls hot pink baby G watch (Jen really committed to the theme of the day). A law school acquaintance happened to Snapchat a video of her singing along to the 90s tunes... While snapchat videos disappear after a few seconds, I guess those few seconds of footage were all Taylor needed. In an uncharacteristic Taylor move, he responded to the snapchat asking for Jen's phone number. Love at first snap seemed like it may fade when after texting for a month they still had not meet up. Jen had a college friend trip in Chicago, Taylor had to go to LA,--their schedules just couldn't match up. Until one random Tuesday night. We will probably die still arguing about how this night began. In typical Taylor fashion, he arrived early. Jen was a respectable but not rude 5-7 minutes late. Taylor says Jen was extremely late--but Jen holds strong that it only felt extremely late due to his early arrival. They talked until the restaurant closed. Jen now knows what a big deal this is for Taylor—he really loves an early bedtime! The rest is history. Jen still runs late and Taylor is still always early but that feeling of wanting to be together until the restaurant closed never went away. After an amazing six years together we are SO ready to finally be married and celebrate with you all!
