Located in the heart of Lancaster City, Fulton Theater puts on high-caliber productions of musical and theatrical favorites such as Chicago, Kinky Boots, Once, Next to Normal, Evita, The Glass Menagerie, In the Heights, and Newsies. Designated as a market town in 1730, the City of Lancaster is home to Lancaster Central Market, the oldest, continuously running public farmers’ market in the country. More than 60 local vendors call the beautiful 1889 Market House home. A step inside is sure to highlight all that Lancaster County has to offer. Not too far away from Lancaster City, visit Sight & Sound Theater for a Broadway-quality production with a Biblical message. Jennifer and Luke's families visit Sight & Sound annually for to experience their incredible shows. This year is will feature the life and work of Queen Esther. Experience one of the most riveting Bible stories of the Old Testament as it comes to life with magnificent sets, special effects and live animals in this brand-new, original stage production! Note: Would not advise for anyone with an airborne nut allergy. Additionally, all animals are treated cruelty-free and are lovingly cared for by the S&S team.
Need to get out some travel frustrations? What better way than axe throwing? Go to Stumpy's for relaxing atmosphere and some amazing stress relief through hatchet throwing. Luke threw Jennifer a surprise birthday party with some of their closest friends.
For all American history buffs, the home of President James Buchanan is a must visit on your Lancaster tour. Period pieces now furnish the rooms on the first two floors. Many of the items, especially those in the library, belonged to Buchanan. Today, LancasterHistory.org retains 10 acres of the original 22 acre property, including the home and three outbuildings.
The quintessential Amish experience can be found at and around Kettle Village. Horse and buggy rides, Amish fudge, farm animals, and handmade crafts can all be found here. Beware of the alpacas if you have long hair... they think it is grass and *will* eat it. Jennifer and her Maid of Honor Geocel know about this firsthand.
