Saturday morning will be for guests to explore on their own. This is the PNW, there are many things to do and places to visit. We only ask that you are back by 4:30pm for the start of the ceremony. You can also hang back at the lodge if you wish. While we will not have a served breakfast or lunch, we will have breakfast items such as coffee, pan dulce, cereals, etc and for lunch we'll have sandwich platters and other miscellaneous items.
There are 3 big lakes surrounding the lodge. Lake Merwin, Yale Lake and the Swift Reservoir. When we say big, we mean big. There are parks and access to these three big lakes, however, a smaller lake, Merrill Lake, is 20 minutes away and a lot more calm. We will have our two paddle boards available for use if you want to check these out. Additionally, there is water access at the Yale Bridge, which is a great area for paddle boarding. There is a rope swing here as well, if you want to get into the water.
This one is a little further out from the lodge, just under 40 miles, but it is a mountain road so it'll take a little over an hour to get there. The road is mostly paved, with potholes, so be careful driving here if you choose to go. A reservation is required to park here and it is enforced. There are several access spots to the river each with its own swimming hole. The water is COLD. The reservations for parking fill up very quickly, especially for a weekend, so please plan ahead if you want to check this area out.
A 7 minute drive from the lodge, this is one of the few options around for dining in. Alternatively, you can drive back into Woodland, WA for more options. As mentioned before, the lodge has a full kitchen ready for use, if you'd like to bring groceries in and cook for yourself, you are welcome to!
