What exactly is “smart casual” attire?

Answer

For the ladies: sundresses or midi dresses, cocktail dresses or skirts with dressier blouses. Flowy pants, pantsuits. Heels, flats or sandals. For the men: khakis or other more casual slacks (chinos), button down collar shirts or polos, slacks with a blazer, dress shoes or dressier looking sneakers.

How far is the Rose Garden from the City Squire?

Answer

Roughly two miles, driving through a couple of residential, city streets. It is a pretty direct route.

Where do I park at the Rose Garden?

Answer

There are residential streets in the immediate vicinity of the garden, along which you can park. There is also some parking along the streets in the park and there is a small parking lot adjacent to the Rose Garden and dog park (near the large pond).

Where do I park at the City Squire?

Answer

There is a parking lot accommodating 40+ cars just to the left of the City Squire on Keyes Avenue. If that is full, look for parking along Keyes Avenue, or secondarily, on Union Street. Just keep an eye out for signs indicating any parking restrictions. You may leave your car overnight in the Squire parking lot if necessary.

What can we expect at The City Squire?

Answer

The City Squire consists of a restaurant/bar on the first floor and a banquet room on the second floor. We’ve rented out the whole place, which means it’ll be closed to the public for our entire event. There will be a full, open bar on both levels. Feel free to mix and mingle on both floors throughout the night, though the bulk of the festivities will be on the second floor.

What about food?

Answer

While we are not having any type of formal, sit down dinner, there will be food available all night. Hors’ douevres will be served initially on the first floor, then on the second floor for the remainder of the night. Dessert will be available on the first floor. You won’t go hungry!

What about the Belmont stakes?

Answer

For the second year in a row, the Belmont Stakes is taking place in Saratoga Springs, at the historic and famous Saratoga Race Course. Post time is approximately 6:50 pm and we’ve asked The City Squire to broadcast the race on several televisions on the first floor!

Is anything happening after the reception is over?

Answer

We are planning to head over to Rivers Casino & Resort, less than 3 miles from our venue. There will be live music at Van Slyke's Bar until 1 a.m., and we will be meeting there!

What time will our wedding be over?

Answer

We anticipate that our wedding will be over at 11 p.m. Of course, don't feel like you have to stay that late!
