Even though they are both from the Boston area, Graham and Jen met in a small ski town in Colorado. Having just moved there, Jen was out at a local bar trying to make friends when she spotted Graham standing by himself. Thinking he might also be looking for friends, Jen followed Graham out when he left and they had their first conversation on Main St. A few days later, they crossed paths at the same Main St spot and Jen invited Graham to her housewarming party that weekend. Although Graham couldn't remember whether the party was Friday or Saturday, he hung out at the same local bar both nights wondering if there'd be an afterparty. Indeed, on Saturday, Jen and her friends found themselves heading to the local bar after the party and Jen found Graham.
While spending a weekend at the beach in Delaware, Graham and Jen headed out for a Saturday morning run, as they do most weekends in DC. They ran about a mile before reaching the ocean, where they stopped briefly to scout a spot for later in the day. Eager to keep running, Jen was heading back down the road when Graham called her back. She turned around to see him down on one knee, framed by the ocean, holding a beautiful ring. After a few tears, a lot of "Oh my gosh!'s", several hugs, and some worry that she'd drop and lose the ring in the sand, Graham put the ring on Jen's finger and she said yes. Then they spent the day, just the two of them, drinking champagne by the ocean, laughing and smiling and planning for the rest of their life together.
