Want to do things close to the wedding venue? We're not experts here, but here's a website with some great ideas!
Check out the ferris wheel at Golden Gate Park
Rent pedal boats at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park
Check out the tour of Alcatraz (make reservations well in advance)!
Visit our old stomping grounds and go for a walk at Chrissy Field, take in the Golden Gate Bridge views and have a picnic if it's nice weather! If not, walk up to Chestnut Street, and you'll find some great restaurants. Our first date was at The Dorian.
Rent a Go Car and take a self guided tour of San Francisco! We did this on one of our early dates and couldn't stop laughing. It's a ton of fun!
Grab an Irish Coffee at the world famous Buena Vista! (Maybe just San Francisco famous, but still good).
Take a ride on a Cable Car! Or just hop on one for a photo opp.
Bringing the kiddos for the weekend? Check out this fun, interactive science spot.
Bringing the kiddos for the weekend? This fun museum in Golden Gate Park features interactive displays, a planetarium, walk-through rainforest, aquarium and more!
Visit the zoo where Gavin dressed like a rhino to meet Jennifer's family for the first time!
Near the zoo, we took Phoebe to this pumpkin patch last year (in her pre-vaccination pouch). Features unique pumpkins and a hay ride!
Enjoy the historic Sonoma Plaza, or make reservations to wine taste in the area! Some of our favorite wineries are located in Alexander Valley. If you're going to taste at a bunch of places, consider hiring a driver for the day (you know what they say... come on vacation. leave on probation... don't let that be you)!
Check out Jennifer's workplace and the tallest building West of the Mississippi (okay, second tallest). Just kidding- don't go here - you can see the Tower from everywhere.
Here's a comprehensive list of the wineries in Sonoma! Bringing the kids? Truett Hurst and VML Winery (next to each other for convenient tasting) have goats to feed! Bring your own lettuce or buy some cheap feed there. Comstock has a bocce ball court in the back.
Here are some recommendations for Alexander Valley wineries - if you love Cabernet, stop by Silver Oak
Napa is also not too far! Here's a list of all of the wineries to enjoy!
