We're getting married!!

Bumble success story! Our first date was Valentine's Day (though Gavin didn't realize this) and right after restaurants started opening up again for outdoor dining during the pandemic. Prior to the date, Gavin had told Jennifer that he "was once 6'3" before being confined to a wheelchair" and that he'd bring his own chair to their date. Having included no photos of himself in a wheelchair on his Bumble profile (and not yet knowing his sense of humor), Jennifer was unsure whether to look down or up when he arrived. She was pleasantly surprised with the handsome, sweet, (funny) man that walked up. Gavin brought Jennifer roses on our second date to make up for forgetting about Valentine's Day. He's been bringing her flowers, smiles and laughter ever since!

Gavin had been planning to propose for quite some time, but he hadn't decided how. Jennifer's sister, Melanie, kept nagging him about what he planned to do and when (runs in the family)! Gavin had finally decided on proposing the day before Mother's Day by setting up a computer on the deck of their home at sunset to capture the moment. He was working that Saturday, and Jennifer had invited her friend Britanie over for lunch (our first non-family visitor to the house). Before leaving for work, Gavin switched up his plan and asked if he could steal Britanie for a second. After they both returned, Gavin got down on one knee and proposed! Britanie captured the moment beautifully. Phoebe (our pup), unable to miss an opportunity to be the center of affection, inserted herself in the middle of the excitement, cone of shame and all. (Spoiler Alert: Jennifer said yes!) Gavin then ran off to work, without time to call family or friends, and Jennifer, wanting to scream the news from the rooftops, eagerly awaited his return home so we could share our exciting news! Gavin came home with a beautiful bouquet of roses, we facetimed our families, and we went to a lovely dinner to celebrate (with champagne, of course)! We got to celebrate with Jennifer's family for Mother's Day the following day! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in October!
