I (Jenny) had seen Chad around church before. I knew he was in my parents' small group and that he was a faithful follower of Jesus. However, whenever I was around him, he was shy and didn't seem interested in meeting me. On a trip with our church to a conference, Chad would drive myself and a few others around town. At one point, we were in the car, and Chad asked, "Is Jenny in the car?" At that point, I knew I was basically invisible to him. On the trip, I (Chad) thought that Jenny was cute and I mentioned to a few other guys that I was thinking of asking her out. I didn't give it much thought because she lived in another town. However, when our friends, Kyle and Karlee, started playing matchmaker, things changed. I (J) was in Phoenix for Karlee's bridal shower when I received a text message from Chad asking if he could pick me up to go before meeting our friends. I was surprised at his boldness and said yes, hoping that our conversation in the car wasn't going to be too awkward. We ended up talking the entire ride there and I enjoyed getting to know him. I (C) thought that Jenny was easy to talk to and was fun to be around. Karlee had asked Jenny if she would say yes if I asked her out on a date, and after learning her answer, I called her the next day to see if she wanted to hang out before she left town. The next day, we went on our first date and in the months that followed, we fell in love. I (J) love Chad's servant heart, sense of humor and his generous spirit. He challenges and affirms me in my relationship with Christ. I love how adventurous and fearless he is and I can't wait for our next adventure--marriage! I (C) love how loving Jenny is to all people and how sweet and thoughtful she is to me and others. She is a great listener and has a lot of patience with me when I don't deserve it. She is always willing to help me even when I am stubborn and don't ask for help.
