Jenny and Brendan met for the first time on Brendan's birthday. Surrounded by friends and family, Brendan and Jenny hit it off immediately. They chatted throughout the evening and ended up back at The Carnahan's home, where they all sat and talked. Ending the night on a high note, Brendan and Jenny saw a shooting star simultaneously...and according to Brendan's parents, Sheila and Chris, who glanced up from across the firepit in the family's backyard, they said it was fate. The next day, Jenny received a text from Brendan thanking her for coming to his birthday party. The new year came, with it, several dates (even through the snow and ice) between Hermann and St. Louis. After the new year, Brendan and Jenny became inseparable. With Jenny's half marathon approaching, Brendan quickly jumped at the chance to travel alongside her to Zion National Park. This was just the start of many subsequent endless hikes, fishing trips, lake weekends, and long walks on the beach, which they spent together, making it work between St. Louis and Hermann. November 12, 2023, was a chilly, sunny fall morning. Together with their friends, just "visiting" to celebrate her and Brendan moving into their new home together in Hermann, insisted they all hike on Sunday morning. Through the crisp fall air, coffees in hand from Lainee's, and surrounded by rust-colored leaves, they sealed the next chapter of their love story with an engagement. Jenny and Brendan can't wait to celebrate their wedding with all of you by their side as they usher in their favorite season with the start of summer solstice; the longest day of the year means more time to celebrate!
