Our guests are welcome to wear whatever makes them feel comfortable, but the official dress code is "formal/black tie optional". Gentlemen, this means a suit and tie. Ladies, a formal dress. We do recommend however that the hem length be floor length or at least mid-calf, as the temperature, while warm during the day, drops sharply in the evenings in Big Sur. This way, you could always slip on some leggings underneath if it gets cold for some extra warmth. Bringing along a warm shawl or cover-up might also be a good idea. You can also refer to the Mental Floss article "What 7 Wedding Dress Codes Really Mean" for images. Formal/Black Tie Optional is number 3.
The ceremony and reception will take place in different locations. There is parking for guests staying on the De Tierra Events property premises. A shuttle will be picking guests up at the De Tierra house to take us to the ceremony site, which is on the coast.
BIG SUR Big Sur is a wild and lushly wooded area next to the sea. Remember this is a rural area; take note that the cliff-side roads can sometimes be a bit tricky at night and cell phone reception is extremely spotty.
