How we met

September 2014

I (Jennifer) was having a terrible day when a suite-mate of mine noticed me eating alone at the Stony Brook Roth cafeteria and dragged her friend Adam along with her. I can’t say it was love at first sight because truly...I wasn’t looking for love and he was complaining about a biology professor he had the whole time after the initial “hello”. A few days go by and Adam is knocking on my dorm door looking for a suite mate and all I could say was “hello, I like your shirt” (he was wearing a Coheed and Cambria shirt); after that moment we became close sharing music with each other along with tv shows we both love to watch. (Supernatural Fans!) As our relationship grew stronger we both started “crushing” on one another without the other person knowing. We continued as friends for the remainder of his college career but once summer of 2015 started that’s when we started sharing our feelings and our relationship took off. June 24th 2015, one day after Adam’s birthday is when he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said yes and our story continues from that day on. The first 3 years of our relationship wasn't always easy but we fought through it together and became stronger as a couple from it. Our love story is unique and filled with a lot of emotions but the day I drove over 100 miles just to visit him for a weekend is when he knew I was the one. The day he traveled over 6 hours via public transportation to visit me at my college dorm in fall of 2015 is when is knew he was the one.

The Proposal

May 31, 2019- Fake a butt cramp and marry the one you love

Yes, you read that title correct. On May 31st 2019 we had a lovely night filled with food, drinks and ice cream in Port Jefferson before Adam suggested we go stargazing at the Staller Steps which is on the Stony Brook University Campus. During our college days we use to go stargazing on the steps and enjoy the environment around us so that wasn't out of the ordinary. After about an hour of stargazing and reminiscing about our college days and how far we have come as a couple, Adam decided it was ready to leave and head home for the night. Well, as Adam was getting up from the ground he got one one knee and said "I have a butt cramp" so I offered to help him up and joked about how it looked like he was ready to propose. As I was joking Adam took a ring box out from the inside of his jacket; I laughed and continued saying "no, you are lying" as Adam gave me a speech about how much he loves me and other romantic stuff ( we both kind of blacked out). He asked me to married him and I just remember crying and giving him a hug as I helped him get up. I don't remember ever saying "yes" but Adam does and it was a "no brainer" since I've been talking about getting married for months! So yes, a butt cramp turned into a cute yet awkward wedding proposal.
