Saturday, April 2, 2022. Please arrive at 5 PM, we will be checking to ensure all guests are vaccinated and you will be escorted to the ceremony at 5:15 PM. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM.
We will follow local City and County of San Francisco ordinances, State of California laws regarding public health, CDC health recommendations and San Francisco Zoo policies. We ask anyone coming to this wedding, who is eligible to be vaccinated be vaccinated and get your booster when you can. On the day of the wedding, there would be a policy of checking vaccine cards at the Zoo gate since we are serving food and have senior citizens at this event. We will continually update this answer with the latest Covid-19 protocols as the wedding date approaches.
NO but it is currently recommended at the Zoo. We would not tell people to put on or take off their mask or face coverings. This is based from the City and County of San Francisco Public Health Guidelines.
Semi-Formal or Dressy Casual. Part of dressing for a semiformal or dressy casual wedding is taking the time of the wedding into account. Wear darker, more formal colors for an evening wedding; opt for light colors and fabrics for a daytime event. Try a below-the-knee dress or a dressy skirt and top. An elegant pantsuit is also appropriate. Floor-length gowns, however, would be inappropriate. Pair with heels, nice wedges, or formal flats. If the ceremony is being held outdoors and you'll be walking across a lawn, avoid traditional heels that will likely get stuck in the grass. Men should wear a dress shirt and slacks, dark or light depending on the time of day, with the option to wear a tie. "Semiformal gives you flexibility on comfort, but be sure not to dress too casual," Since this is close to Ocean Beach and the wedding ceremony is outdoors, be advised to dress warmly. Since this is the SF Zoo, wear comfortable shoes or tennis shoes and change into your dress shoes.
There would be a gated parking lot at the San Francisco Zoo. The parking lot has two entrances, one off of the Great Highway for people driving from the East Bay and South Bay (THIS ENTRANCE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO CONTRUCTION so use the Sloat Blvd. entrance) , and one off of Sloat Boulevard at 47th Avenue for those driving from the North Bay. There is only one exit from the parking lot – putting everyone northbound on the Great Highway. Parking at this parking lot is free if you are leaving AFTER 6pm. There is plenty of parking around the San Francisco Zoo but this parking lot is reasonable secure due the close proximity to the front gate to the Zoo and being well-lit at night. There are parking lots around the Zoo but after you park you have to walk in. The wedding would take place with some members of the public still at the Zoo but would be leaving at closing time. As always, do not leave anything valuable inside your vehicle. For more information, https://www.sfzoo.org/directions-and-parking/.
As always it is hard to predict the weather anywhere let alone in San Francisco. We have microclimates where you can go from one part of town where it is hot and to another where it is cold on the same day. San Francisco is going to be like that. Based on my experience, the San Francisco Zoo is going to be on the cold side because it is by the ocean. Since this wedding is going to be an outdoor and indoor event, we advise you to dress warmly and/or bring a warm coat. We don't anticipate any rainy weather but we do have contingency plans if it should rain on that day. We would let you know.
Taxi and ride share drop off and pick up is located off of Sloat Boulevard at 47th Avenue. There are no drop-offs or pick-ups in the Zoo parking lot.

We kindly request RSVPs by March 2, 2022. We expect to have the invitations in the mail as soon as we get them from the printer. You can use the included RSVP card, please be sure to write the names of all of your guests on the card OR you can RSVP on the RSVP section of this website.
The best airport to fly into would be San Francisco International Airport (SFO). We know it might be cheaper to fly into Oakland International Airport (OAK) or San Jose International Airport (SJC) but the ground transportation to get to San Francisco is a bit of a hassle with the local traffic conditions (i.e. bridge tolls, high traffic) and the high cost of ground transportation from these airports. It would be a lot easier to fly into SFO because it is about 20 minutes drive away (on a good day) or 30 minutes with traffic and ground transportation would be a lot easier, too. You would not have to deal with any bridges. There are also a lot of hotels around SFO as well as in the City of San Francisco.
Yes, please advise us as soon as you can so that we can make prior arrangements. We can arrange for a golf cart needing transport. However, the distance to walk from wedding ceremony to cocktail hour to reception is very short. As for everyone, we advise everyone to wear comfortable shoes to walk in between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception
Yes, let us know about some of you have special diets, food allergies or are a vegetarian and we can try to accommodate you. Please let us know ahead of time. You can contact us at JenandLeo2022@gmail.com
There are a lot of hotels for different styles and prices ranges. Some surrounding around San Francisco International Airport and some inside the City and County of San Francisco (and close to the Zoo). Some one star to four star hotels with many different amenities. Depending on the level of interest, we might reserve a block of rooms at a particular hotel for our guests. Still confused, let us know, we will steer you in the right direction.
Yes, the price of admission into the Zoo would be included in this wedding. In other words, this would be free for our guests. Let us know how many want to walk around and enjoy the Zoo. Please be advise that access around the Zoo would be limited after the wedding ceremony begins and during the reception because the whole Zoo closes to the public at 5pm and their last entry time is 4pm. If you would like to visit the zoo, please email us at JenAndLeo2022@gmail.com and we will send you a ticket you can take to the GATE HOUSE at the San Francisco Zoo.
Yes, we have set up an email for our wedding JenandLeo2022@gmail.com for any wedding related questions, concerns and comments or you can call us and leave us a voice message on (415) 751-1250 or text at (650) 704-6745. Of course, we will update this FAQs at we get closer to the wedding date.
No. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not allowing anywhere on the Zoo grounds. You can smoke in the parking lot outside.
