Downtown Georgetown

Wander a historic downtown area right off a picture perfect postcard and shop dozens of electric art, boutique and antique shops. With its American flags, hanging flower baskets and Victorian-era buildings, downtown Georgetown exemplifies small town America. Stop in the Georgetown Antique Mall for local gems or Bird Song Quilting & Crafts for your next colorful project. During your afternoon stroll, experience one of the many unique restaurant options located in downtown, as well as an adventurous trip to Royal Spring Park. Mosey through the Georgetown College campus, learn of the areas history at the Georgetown & Scott County Museum, and experience art at it’s finest at the Scott County Arts & Cultural Center.

Old Friends Farm

A 136-acre Thoroughbred retirement farm where you can get up close and personal with such stars of the turf as Kentucky Derby winners Silver Charm and War Emblem, Breeders’ Cup Champions Alphabet Soup and Amazombie, and stakes winners Game On Dude and Ide. These champions live alongside hard-knockers like Fighting City Hall and Popcorn Deelites, whose only claim to racing fame was starring in the film Seabiscuit.

Kentucky Bourbon Trail

What’s a visit to Kentucky without tasting fine crafted bourbon at distilleries along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. Discover the beautiful scenery & history spread throughout this legendary trail, as well as the savory flavors of each distilled bourbon. Georgetown is a perfect destination during your Kentucky Bourbon Trail® trip because it is nearby popular distilleries such as Town Branch in Lexington, Woodford Reserve in Versailles, & Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg. Horse Farm Tours

Horse Country – Horse Country, Inc. is an organization of horse farms, equine medical clinics and equine attractions dedicated to sharing the stories of Kentucky’s Horse Country. Visit horse farms all of the central Kentucky area that are home to some of the most popular horses of our time. Book your tour through Horse Country for Coolmore at Ashford Farm, home to Triple Crown and Breeder’s Cup Classic winner, American Pharaoah, or schedule a trip to Clairborne Farm to see the cemetery where the famous Secretariat resides. Kentucky Horse Park

The only park of its kind in the world, the Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm, educational theme park, equine competition facility, and equine office park dedicated to man’s relationship with the horse. This 1,224-acre equine park is based in Lexington with over 200 acres in the Georgetown/Scott County area. Featuring dozens of different breeds of horses at work and at play, the park showcases the horse in daily equine presentations, horse drawn tours, museums dedicated to the history of the horse, and horseback and pony rides during the main summer season. The Kentucky Horse Park is Kentucky’s largest state-owned tourist attraction and the largest attraction in central Kentucky.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky

Take a road trip to Toyota Kentucky, located in Georgetown, America’s first and the world’s largest Toyota manufacturing facility. Each day at the plant, people and machines are working together to build ever-better cars, like the Avalon and Lexus ES 350, and America’s best-selling car for 14 years running – the Camry. Get a good look at a mint condition 1988 Camry, the first Camry ever made in the United States. Then, buckle up for a ride around the plant on a guided, tram-driven tour. Keeneland Race Course

Located in the Horse Capital of the World, Keeneland is an internationally renowned racecourse and the Thoroughbred industry’s leading auction house. Founded in 1936, Keeneland’s mission is to continually invest in the industry and to preserve the tradition of Thoroughbred racing.

Yuko-En on the Elkhorn

Yuko-en is the official Kentucky Japan Friendship Garden located along Georgetown’s Elkhorn Creek. This 5½-acre garden features Bluegrass landscaping framed with a Japanese style stroll. Walk along the pathways and discover the many elements unique to Yuko-En on the Elkhorn. The four-season garden is open daily from dawn to dusk and is completely free to the public.

Red River Gorge - The Natural Bridge

The Red River Gorge in Kentucky embraces a sandstone rock bridge in Kentucky called the Natural Bridge. According to Bill Bailey (1995), the Natural Bridge refers to a particular sandstone rock bridge that is 65 feet in height and spans 78 feet in length. In his book, Kentucky state parks, a complete outdoor recreation guide for campers, boaters, anglers, hikers, and outdoor lovers, Bailey explains that although the hike to the Natural Bridge is not the shortest, and the span of the rock formation is not the largest, Bailey admits that the bridge is probably the most visited arch in Kentucky.
