Adam and Jennie connected in September 2019 on the dating app “Hinge”. After several back-and-forth messages, Jennie went silent for a week after one of Adam’s messages - the kiss of death for any dating app conversation! However, Adam, being persistent knew the importance of following up with someone. He did so by asking if Jennie wanted to meet in person. And Jennie agreed! Expectations were low on both sides. Jennie was not impressed with Adam’s profile photos. On his end, Adam was a little nervous about dating someone more than a foot shorter than him. Little did they know, low expectations can underwrite high rewards.

Jennie and Adam met up on a Friday after work at The Dearborn in the Chicago Loop. Adam arrived at the Dearborn a few minutes early and had to quickly pivot once he realized the bar had no open seats. Quick thinking led them to nearby City Social where the two hit it off. Adam loved that Jennie seemed legitimately interested in the books he was reading (and earned brownie points after she bought BOTH books that Adam had recommended). Jennie loved how captivating Adam was and interested in every subject that they talked about. Hours later Adam asked Jennie if she wanted to do dinner as well that night. This “one drink and out” date was evolving into a multi-hour affair as Adam and Jennie delved deeper over dinner at Sienna Tavern in River North. They left the night with plans to meet again soon (after a quick kiss!)

Adam and Jennie instantly started spending more time together by their offices in downtown Chicago, by Jennie’s condo in Roscoe Village and at Adam’s studio in Evanston. Five months later with COVID-19 escalating, Adam packed every roll of toilet paper he had and drove over to Jennie’s to shelter in place. Since then, Adam and Jennie have become closer, made plans for the future and even adopted a kitty who they named Maisy! After spending more than a year together, Adam proposed to Jennie at Mundelein Seminary, a seminary in suburban Chicago with a beautiful lakefront and virtually no tourists. Adam and Jennie are both so happy to be able to celebrate their love and start this new chapter in their lives with their friends and family on October 29 in Chicago.
