Our engagement story begins with deception.. not the ideal way to start out a marriage, we know, but it worked in our favor. Anyway, Taylor had told me that he had obtained a free $50 gift card to our favorite restaurant, Ramen Tatsu-Ya, from the PR girl that works with him. He claimed that she 'didn't like that place' and wanted to give it to someone who did. In exchange for the gift card, she wanted him to take a photo of the downtown Austin skyline at night for the brewery's Instagram page so she could post it for PR. So, we get ready and head downtown for dinner. While at dinner, I proceeded to tell an employee that we had our first date here 2 1/2 years ago and we are still together. Why would I pick that night to tell someone? I had never said that before. Anyway, we eat and then begin our search downtown for the perfect spot to get a shot of the skyline. Taylor mentions that there is a bike trail that goes from the street to Town Lake boardwalk, which is a walking trail that extends over Lady Bird lake. When we get there, I begin taking pictures immediately. I was determined to get a great shot for this IG post. Taylor kept trying to get my attention, but I was on a mission. At one point, he started caressing my arm and I told him to quit because he was messing up my photo! When I finally finished, he put his arms around me from behind and told me how much he loved me and our life and that only one thing could make it more perfect.. which I turned around to him down on one knee with the ring. I was absolutely STUNNED. I couldn't believe it. Of course I said yes and that lead us to this moment. Turns out, Taylor had bought the gift card himself a few days earlier because our budget was so strict at the time, he knew I wouldn't consent to going to dinner because it cost money! It was the perfect moment with the perfect man and the most perfect ring. We couldn't be happier!
