Flight
Duluth is the closest airport to Two Harbors, as it is about a 45 minute drive between the two cities. There are daily flights from Delta, United, and Sun Country Airlines into Duluth, typically with short layovers in either Minneapolis or Chicago.
Flight
Two Harbors is about a three hour drive north from MSP Airport. As a word of caution, northern Minnesota is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and is also known as cabin country for many. You may find somewhat heavier than usual traffic "heading north" - especially if you are coming in on a Friday.
Travel Note
From the Twin Cities, head north on I-35. Tobies in Hinckley is a great pitstop for some pretty amazing cinnamon rolls and donuts, whether or not you have a sweet tooth... Depending on your travel timing, Canal Park in Duluth has some great restaurants, breweries, shopping, and a pretty cool aerial lift bridge. If you time it right, you can see the raising and lowering of the bridge as a 1,000 foot long "Laker" ship comes into the harbor carrying a capacity of up to 70,000 short tons. PS, these ships are too big to ever leave the Great Lakes... After Duluth, you'll keep heading north on MN-61 until you reach Grand Superior Lodge. Look for the sign just outside of Duluth to take the scenic byway to get to Two Harbors - it's easy to miss and while this adds about 5 minutes to your drive time, it is much more scenic and absolutely worth it. There are some great shops to stop in at on this route as well (look for a popular fish smokehouse and a candy kitchen). Grand Superior Lodge is about 11 miles past the town of Two Harbors, and it will be on your right hand side at mile marker 37, across the street from the Rustic Inn Cafe.
