Hiking

Sun Valley is filled with amazing hiking opportunities. Here are a few of our favorite hikes nearby: * Baker Lake (5 miles round trip) - Close to town and with less than 900 feet of elevation gain, Baker Lake is the perfect hike for the whole family. * White Clouds (2.7 miles round trip) - Right in town, this is a short hike with beautiful vistas of the town of Ketchum, the mountains and the wedding venue. * Proctor Ridge (5.5 miles round trip) - A local favorite, you’ll pass remnants of the original 1936 Proctor Mountain chairlift, as well as views of iconic Bald Mountain. First-timers should bring a map or guidebook—several of Proctor Mountain’s trail junctions are unsigned. * Bald Mountain (10 miles round trip) - If you're up for a challenge, try hiking up Baldy! It's about 5 miles to the top, but with lots of elevation gain. * Link for Bald Mountain hiking and biking trails: https://d26zlhfpekbdmm.cloudfront.net/files/pdf/SV_Summer_TrailMap_2018_WEB.pdf

Fishing

The fly fishing opportunities of the Sun Valley area are numerous and diverse, which includes world famous Silver Creek, Wood River and the Big Lost River just to name a few. We recommend using either Silver Creek Outfitters and Lost River Outfitters to book your fly fishing trip. They both offer a wide variety of water types for all skill levels of fly-fishers. Everything from the simplicity of large dry flies on small mountain streams to the tiny mayfly hatches of Silver Creek, to high mountain lake fishing and even the wilderness of the Yellowstone Park waters.
