Let's (Really) Do This!

Bentley University is where it all began. Jenna and Eric's friends tried to set them up Junior year, but the timing wasn't right. Jenna went off to study abroad and their paths crossed back at school Senior year when they both moved in before classes started. Eric was there early for soccer and Jenna was a freshman seminar facilitator. They were living in the same building, a floor apart from each other. Eric asked Jenna to dinner in the North End. It was pouring rain and Eric was on crutches due to a soccer injury. He insisted on dropping Jenna off at the restaurant while he parked the car. She knew he was special. They hit it off at dinner and quickly became inseparable. The rest is history!

After 7 years of dating, Eric knew planning something big would be too obvious for Jenna. He found a weekend they didn't have plans and as soon as they woke up, well, as soon as their pup Olive woke up, they took a family walk to Starbucks to get coffees and start their day. On the walk home, on their favorite street in their neighborhood, Eric asked Jenna to turn around. In true Jenna fashion she was walking quite fast, a couple steps ahead of Eric. To her surprise, he was down on one knee. She was completely caught off guard. Of course, she said YES!

Eric's love for craft beer and Jenna's love for food is what initially drew them to Portland, ME. They first visited Portland together for one of their anniversaries and instantly fell in love with its laid back vibe. When Eric was assigned to the Portland area for work, Jenna would sometimes commute to Portland and meet Eric for dinner to try another restaurant on their list. Being under 2 hours from Boston, Portland was an easy escape and quickly became their special place.
