Our story began in Ocean City, Maryland, at an indoor soccer tournament. We were playing on separate teams but had mutual friends who brought us together to hang out at the Princess Royale and go swimming. As two awkward ninth graders who knew everyone there except each other, we somehow ended up sitting side by side in the hot tub… and accidentally touched toes. We didn’t say a single word to each other that entire night. But weeks later, Devon finally mustered up the courage to reach out to Jenna on Instagram. The rest, as they say, is history. From there, we talked nonstop—texting, Snapchatting, and FaceTiming every chance we got (as you can imagine for a 14- and 15-year-old). Our relationship officially began on May 15, 2016, when Devon asked Jenna to be his girlfriend in her parents' front yard—just minutes before his mom arrived to take him home. We owe so much to our parents for helping our relationship grow. Since we went to different high schools and couldn’t drive yet, they were always willing to take us on dates to the Towson movies, drop us off at each other’s houses on weekends, and even include us in family vacations. We truly can’t thank them enough for the time, support, and love they gave us along the way. It still feels surreal to say we’ve been together for so long. We’ve grown up side by side—through high school, college at WVU, and even long-distance again while Devon started his career as a Petroleum Engineer in Ohio and Jenna was completing Physical Therapy school in Pittsburgh. Now, we’ve found our way back together in Ohio, building lives and careers we’re proud of. All the ups and downs, sacrifices and victories we’ve shared are what make us so excited for the future ahead. We chose to get married on May 15, 2027—exactly 11 years from the day Devon asked Jenna to be his girlfriend in her parents’ front yard. It feels like everything has come full circle. Our love has grown with us every step of the way, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
