Maid of Honor
Laura and Jenna have been besties since birth, literally. From a very young age, Jenna was known to run away from home. Fortunately the Detiveaux's old house was just 1 door down from the Flammang's and she could almost always be found just hanging out with her 2nd family. A through and through Gemini, Laura is the loud and rambunctious life of the party, where Jenna is her more reserved voice of reason. Despite their differences and crazy schedules, they are always there for the important stuff and always willing to make time for each other. It's so rare these days to find a friendship that spans a decade, but having someone in your life for TWO DECADES is pretty awesome. I'd say they are more like sisters than anything else at this point.
Best Man
Matron of Honor
When Andy and Jennine started dating, Jenna was a little skeptical because she was different from any girl he'd ever brought home (not to mention the fact that there would now be 2 Jen's around). Turns out though, that was the best thing to ever happen to him! Jennine was sweet enough to make Jenna her maid of honor when she and Andy got married in 2018. So, it was only fitting that Jenna asked her to be her Matron of Honor! They've always been friends, but the several months where Andy and Jennine moved back to Knoxville really let them grow closer. Early mornings in the gym and lots of family game nights have let all 4 of them hang out. Jennine is the big sister that Jenna has always wanted and an even better friend. And I guess there really will only be one Jen Detiveaux now!

Even though Andy and Jenna are 5 years apart in age, they are pretty dang close. They bond over 2000s emo rock, Harry Potter, dark humor and conspiracy theories. Jenna was so excited for her brother to finally meet her boyfriend, so naturally she invited Derek to Andy and Jennine's wedding! Jenna threw Derek to the wolves and had him go take photos of the groomsmen while they were pregaming and getting ready. A bottle of whisky later, Derek was best friends with all the guys! The bromance didn't end there though. After a few visits to Seattle, Andy was texting Derek more often than he was texting Jenna. They should never be left to their own devices, though. There’s no telling what kind of trouble they’ll get into!!

Jenna knew Sydney in the 6th grade as "the girl that cried all the time" and honestly, that title remained true even after they became friends and through the rest of middle school (lol, sorry sis)!!! Jen and Syd had a lot of classes together in the 7th grade and somehow became friends sitting in the back of Mrs. Owen's 7th grade Language Arts class. There was almost always some boy drama they needed to discuss and this was where they chose to talk it all out. Pretty soon, Sydney, Claire and Jenna were an inseparable trio and it was just kind of known that they were a package deal. Their friendship extended into the college years when Syd basically lived on Nicole and Jenna's floor all of Freshman year! I think at this point they've been friends longer than they weren't. And that's cool.

Katie, Jenna and Laura were a trio that formed as early as these girls could walk. Living in the same neighborhood made playdates easy, and they ALWAYS wanted to play. As founding members of the Princapesa Club, their early dates were spent playing dress-up and watching Disney. The best way to describe this friendship involves a story: One day in high school, Laura wanted to have a photoshoot of Jenna and Katie at a local park by the lake. Jenna overshot jumping onto a tree limb (which was dangling over an inlet at the lake) and fell about 6 feet onto a rock bed. In all the fuss, Laura slipped on a rock and fell backwards into the lake and Katie was laughing so hard at us she peed her pants! Now, the only types of adventures Jenna and Katie embark on are walking their doggos together!!

Nicole met Jenna junior year at Hardin Valley in their AP Lit class with Mrs. Driscoll. Jenna, Sydney and Claire had that class together and sat on the other side of the room from Nicole so they could be with their guy friends. Jenna and Sydney had taken charge of setting up the junior/senior football tailgates on Friday evenings and one day, Nicole slid into Jenna's Twitter DM's and asked if she could hang out with her and her friends at the tailgate that night. Jenna obviously said yes bc Nicole was always quiet and nice. So, that night Nicole met them at the upper parking lot at HVA! They got super close senior year through DECA and yearbook/newspaper staff/young life, and on a whim Jenna asked Nicole if she would be her roommate at UT. The rest is history! RIP to Morrill Room 1033/34.

Grace is Jenna's 'cousin', god-sister and daredevil friend. These two have known each other literally since birth! Grace was always exponentially more outgoing than Jenna was. She was always pushing her out of her comfort zone and getting her to be a little fearless. We all need one friend who gets you in a little bit of good trouble! Jenna and Grace have a big joke that even though Grace is 18 months younger, she always beats Jenna to the finish line. That includes the big firsts like their first kisses! Grace beat Jen to the punch on that one by about 24 hours and it's still a source of contention to this day. Fortunately, Jen beat Grace to graduating college (barely, since Grace just HAD to be on the accelerated track) and getting married. Nothing like a little healthy competition!

Claire describes the first time she met Jenna like this, "One day before dance practice this weirdo with bangs and a unibrow cornered me in the CBMS bathroom and said 'Hey, I know where you live and your whole family.'" Honestly, that's probably pretty accurate. Thank god Claire didn't run away screaming, and instead they started carpooling! Turns out, Claire's uncle had married the daughter of one of the Detiveaux's family friends! Jenna and Claire had actually met at their wedding when they were like 6. Jen and Claire became inseparable, spending all their time dancing together, basically living at each other's houses and navigating the endless drama in their teenage world. Their friendship survived CBMS dance, HVA dance and after it, life at UT, and now adulthood in different cities!
