Ingles Markets
Our grocery store. The Hayesville location is listed, but there is also one in Hiawasee, Murphy, and Blairsville.
Fires Creek
Fires Creek is very special to us, being one of our first date spots as well as our proposal site. Between camping, hiking, fishing, and seeing water falls, there's plenty to do here!
Bell Mountain
The place we fell in love :) If you're lucky, you'll get to see the paragliders!
Lake Chatuge
A favorite of ours for kayaking, walking, and taking picnics. Multiple beach and ramp options along the lake.
Murphy River Walk
A nice little trail and boardwalk system along the Valley River in Murphy. Views include the river itself, decommissioned train tracks, wildlife, and more. Just know that this is one of the few places mosquitos really bother us around here.
Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino
Don't worry if gambling isn't your thing, Harrah's also has plenty of food and a bowling alley! There is a sister casino in Cherokee, NC.
WNC Cat Museum
Lots of fun for cat lovers :)
Helen
A lovely little German town along one of the routes to Atlanta. Oktober Fest typically runs through the first weekend of November and is a super blast!
Anna Ruby Falls
Beautiful waterfalls near Helen. I would definitely recommend staying on the trails to avoid poison ivy, though. This one does have an entrance fee.
Vogel State Park
Nice, varied trail intensities and plenty of space. There are water activities as well but it'll be a liiiittle cold come the end of the October. This one does have an entrance fee.
Unicoi State Park & Lodge
Another lovely spot outside of Helen. We went ziplining here in our early days!
Meeks Park Disc Golf Course
If you enjoy disc golf, this is a fun course to check out. The course is hidden amongst the trees and makes for a very beautiful day.
Nocturnal Brewing
Our VERY delicious caterer, right across the street from the wedding venue. I also used to work back of house here for a while.
The Crown Restaurant
Looking for gluten-free options? The Crown's entire menu is available to you! They also cultivate a lot of their own ingredients on site.
Tilted Cafe
Tilted Cafe has delicious foods with interesting flavor profiles, as well as a bunch of free arcade machines. No website other than a Facebook page.
Bronco's
Owned and operated by the same folks as Nocturnal, but this time with a Tex Mex influence.
Hiawassee Brew
Live music Fridays and Saturdays from 6-9pm. Music Bingo Wednesdays from 6-8:30pm.
Poor Parson's Pub
Recently re-opened under new ownership. It's hard to be disappointed in their menu, but be warned this is not for Poor Parson. Maybe Rich Parson.

Peacock Performing Arts Center

John C. Campbell Folk School
While their biggest draw is the variety of folk craft classes they offer, they also have a cool craft shop and plenty of trails to walk along the river.
