The window to RSVP will open once we get closer to the wedding date, around the time that y'all receive official invitations in the mail. At that time, please fill out all sections of the RSVP to your best ability as this is where we will collect information such as dietary needs.
Our wedding will be at one venue for the duration of the event, both indoors and outdoors weather permitting. The ceremony itself will be inside, then we will move outside for some festivities, then we will move back inside for dinner, and finally the reception will be both inside and outside.
The original courthouse of Clay County was a wooden structure, burned down along with all county documents in 1870. What we now call the Beal Center Historic Courthouse was constructed in the Italianate Vernacular style by Captain J.S. Anderson as a replacement in the late 1800s, costing $7800 at the time. When the current courthouse was constructed in the late 1900s, this building fell into disrepair. The Clay County Communities Revitalization Association (CCCRA) took on the project of total renovation/repair. Upon completion, the building was renamed the Beal Center and re-opened to the community on July 21st, 2018. Many community groups use it as a place to hold their meetings, and many community members use it as a venue for their private events. Check out the website for more information.
The Beal Center is in the Downtown Square with public parking. We are working with the Beal Center to dedicate part of the parking areas to our private events, and will let you know more on this when it's been settled. Either way there should not be any parking availability issues, but if you can carpool that would probably be a good idea.
There are currently very limited options for Uber/Lyft/etc. For now, please account for being able to get yourself back to your lodging after the wedding when making plans but check back regularly for any updates on the situation.
We are very fortunate to have a mild climate. In late October, you should be fine for temperature with light to medium jackets. It's rare to have snow, and especially that early in the year. However, it's very normal to have rain - your best bet is to bring a rain jacket/umbrella and hope you don't need to use it. It's also usually peak of the season for the leaves changing colors.
Cell service can be... spotty, to say the least. When you're hanging around right in town, things should work fine. When driving between the towns, it can be very hit or miss. Always have any GPS directions you need ready to go before you leave your location.
More to come. Please check back after receiving your official invitation.
Our married names will be Jenna Parker Bracas and Bennett Parker. Please keep this in mind for anything applicable.
