Getting to Solvorn

We recommend our American family and friends fly into Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) and then catch a flight shortly thereafter to Sogndal (SOG). The OSL-SOG flight is only 55 minutes. Widerøe operates four daily flights from OSL to SOG. These flights can connect to/from SAS's transatlantic flights to/from the US via Oslo. For example, we recommend the 6:55 pm SAS flight from Newark to Oslo arriving 8:20 am, and the 12:30 pm Widerøe flight, which would get you to Sogndal at 1:25 pm. Alternatively, you could come to Oslo a few days early to explore the city and acclimate to the time zone. And then rent a car for a beautiful 5.5 hour road trip to Solvorn! A note on travel

We encourage our American friends and family to consider arriving in Norway a couple of days before the wedding festivities kick off on Friday, April 28, if your schedule allows. Whether you spend a day or two in Oslo before heading up to Solvorn, or plan some adventures in the Sogndal area, there is a lot to explore and it will help with the jet lag! We are here for any questions and suggestions!

Walaker Hotell

This is where the weekend's festivities will take place. Walaker Hotel is Norway's oldest dating back to 1640, and has been run by the same family for nine generations. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden and the idyllic village of Solvorn, with views of Lustrafjord and the mountains. A breakfast buffet is included daily. Bikes can be borrowed and there are many opportunities to hike, kayak, fish and take boat cruises. Villa SOLVORN

Villa Solvorn is a small family-run guesthouse, located right next door to the Walaker. All rooms are bright and homely with good beds. The family room is about 17 square meters, and the double rooms from 8 to 10 square meters. The house has two bathrooms and a single toilet, all shared. Communal lounge and garden with lots of cozy seating. Kayaks, boats and bikes available for rent. To book email dukanwedding@gmail.com Rooms will average 1600 NOK. We encourage international travelers to book a car. If you'd like to carpool, we can try to help advise if there is anyone else on your route if you keep in touch with your itinerary. Parking is available at venue, and the Walaker is a great starting or ending point for a classic Norwegian roadtrip.
