Milene will cheer you on, remind you to take a salt bath to ward off bad vibes, and even argue when needed, but she always does it with all her love. I feel incredibly blessed to have her in my life, and can’t wait to have her next to me on this special day. Grant- from fighting over toy blocks in pre-school to sharing a twin sized bed in Switzerland as poor college kids gripped by wanderlust, you have quite literally always been there for me to celebrate each other's victories and walk through each other's hardships. I have loved every argument, roast-session, men's group, and meal shared with you. I never had a biological brother, but because of the bond we share, I do not wonder what that kind of connection is like. I cannot wait to have you by my side as I marry this beautiful woman.

I met Bruna during my first year in the U.S. Living away from home is a daily challenge, but I found an incredible friend in her. Bruna was the first person to surprise me with a surprise party! She’s seen me cry countless times and always gave me a hug because, according to her, a hug can fix anything. Besides being an amazing friend, she’s also my stylist. The first time I met Joao, he told me that before I earned his approval I must answer one question-- Messi or Ronaldo? I knew Ronaldo was Portuguese, but I took a risk and gave him my honest opinion: Ronaldo might be more of an athlete, but I still prefer Messi. I expected a bit of backlash, but I just got a thumbs up and a smile! Joao, I cannot wait to meet you in person.

I first met Kaleb in middle school. He walked up to me at a mutual friend’s birthday party and said, “Hey you just moved into my neighborhood so we’re going to be best friends”. When I was leaving the party, he walked out to the car with me and said “my place, Saturday morning at 10:00, let’s play madden”. Kaleb and I spent high school going on runs and going to the gym together, and turning from little chubby middle schoolers to men. Kaleb, I’m glad I got to be a part of your wedding, and I can’t wait for you to be a part of mine!

I met Larissa when We were in Brazil, and we ended up coming to the same place in the U.S. Here, we became close friends. Then, Lari moved to another state, and we lost touch for a while. But we reconnected, and I’m so glad we did! Lari and Mike (her husband) have become such great friends to me and Seth. We’ve had so many meaningful conversations about faith and marriage. It’s been amazing to be guided by her, and I truly believe that God brought us into each other’s lives for a reason. I have heard countless stories from Jeni about her relationship with Jo, and they usually close with a soft smile as she reminds me how much she misses his laugh. Jonatan used to ask Jeni to ride shotgun in his car every time he went out- no matter what for. While I still have a bit of a language barrier to overcome before I get to really know Jo, one thing we have in common is that we love having Jeni by our side.

Ju is the kind of friend everyone wants to have. She’s the calm while I’m the storm. She’s the one who doesn’t talk every day, but when I need her, she’s there and says, "I’m coming." I love how she makes me feel more at peace. My heart fills with love every time I send her a voice message and laugh, and she says, "I love your laugh." Seth always says that when someone is full of God, they have the calmness that Ju has. I truly believe God brought her into my life during a difficult time, and she made everything easier. We both love reading books and discussing them, and we’re both passionate about literary characters. And believe me, he'll be happy to tell you at the wedding, because he is by FAR the most outgoing person I have ever met. Mat, I can't believe how quickly we went from total strangers to coworkers, roommates, and brothers. I'm so excited to party with you on this special day!
