Jen and Tyler went to the same high school together, and while they knew who each other were, they never had a chance to formally meet despite running in the same circles for years. They are both avid fans of the show The Office, and when they saw there was a trivia night coming to their local Dave and Busters, Jen reached out and asked if she could join Tyler’s team in hopes that their mutual love of the show would win them first place. They ended up taking home the trophy that night and spent the rest of the evening gaming, laughing, and being silly together. At the end of the night they were standing outside of Dave and Busters with a group of Tyler’s friends, and Jen abruptly said, “Alright that was fun, later man,” and walked away. Tyler’s friend then asked, “Who was that?” To which he replied, “Uhh I guess nobody,” but he didn’t let it go. Later, Tyler reached out and asked if he could take her on a date. They went on a date to the Grain in Norfolk and continued with their silliness, ultimately realizing that there was a connection. They continued to get to know each other and, after some time, Jen decided it was time for the ultimate test: introducing Tyler to Wylder. After seeing how kind, patient, and fun Tyler was with Wylder and how easy he made it for Wylder to love him, everything else just fell into place. The three of us fit together perfectly and would plant the seeds for what would eventually become the most loving family, and the rest is history!
