Question

How do I get to Isla Mujeres?

Answer

Fly into Cancun Intl Airport (CUN). After a 20 minute van ride to Puerto Juarez you will take a 20 minute ferry ride to the island. Check out the travel page for more detailed information and booking links!

Question

How do I get around Isla?

Answer

The best way to get around the island is by golf cart. Most fit 4 people comfortably. There are lots of options on the island. See our travel page for details and contact numbers.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have a room block at the IZLA Hotel. We've stayed here personally and know you'll love it too. Please use the link on our travel page. If you're looking for something all-inclusive or at a different price point, there are tons of options on the island. Wherever you decide to stay, our venue is a short taxi trip away.

Question

Is Isla Mujeres safe?

Answer

Yes! Isla Mujeres is a small island that is for the most part free of crime. There is a reasonably large navy base on the island, which is a great presence when it comes to keeping things very tranquil locally.

Question

How do I pay for things in Isla?

Answer

The Mexican peso is the standard currency used in Mexico. Everyone in Cancun and in Isla will take US dollars or Mexico pesos. However, we recommend always paying in pesos. To get the best exchange rate, we recommend either getting pesos from your bank in the states (Bank of America has great rates) or taking your pesos from the ATMs on the island. There are several banks on Isla with ATM machines (in English and Spanish). Also many establishments do not accept credit cards (due to the higher transaction fees in Mexico).

Question

Can I drink the water?

Answer

We wouldn't! However, ALL of the local establishments outsource their ice to the two main ice factories here on the island which provide filtered ice. So, you can drink your cocktail without concern :)

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Don't forget a light jacket or sweater! The island can be breezy at times. If you forgot something, no worries! There is a large supermarket that you can purchase almost anything. Cocktail attire is suggested on our wedding day! Heels are OK, we will not be walking on soft sand.

Question

ARE KIDS WELCOME?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, we will only include children of the family in the ceremony & reception. We understand some guests may be traveling with children, and we can have our wedding planner recommend private childcare during the festivities.

Question

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Answer

Please check your invite for your +1!

Question

I have another question!

Answer

The groom would love to assist :)

For all the days along the way
