Matron of Honor
Katherine is Jen’s big sister. Older by four years, they didn’t always see eye to eye when they were younger, but in adulthood, Katherine has become a friend, mentor, and sounding board for Jen. Katherine has been a huge support and so helpful throughout the wedding planning process! Now living in Puerto Rico, Jen is grateful for every moment they get to spend together. She can't wait to have Katherine by her side as she says "I do!"
Chase Platon
Best Man
Chase, Patrick's older brother by 3 years, has always toed the line of brother and parent. From driving him to high school to guiding Patrick through his rebellious years, Chase has always been there to provide an example. Married to Lisa and father of Luke, Chase has shown Patrick how to be a husband, father, friend, and son. As Patrick gets ready for this next chapter, Chase will be there to mentor him every step of the way.
Laura McAlduff
Bridesmaid
Laura was one of Jen’s first friends at UBC. They were placed on the same floor in the dorms (Ross Fourth!!) and they bonded during an ice breaker event when they learned they both rode horses. Laura has continued to foster her love of animals and started her own dog training business up in British Columbia. Though they have lived in different countries for the past four years, Laura and Jen have continued to adventure together in Big Sur, Yosemite, Squamish, and the mountains surrounding Las Vegas.
Andrew Platon
Groomsman
Andrew is the youngest and biggest of the Platon clan. Ever the life of the party, Andrew will be sure to bring the fun with him on this journey. Despite being younger, Andrew exemplifies discipline and perseverance as he accomplished his goals of competing in (and winning!) body-building competitions. Andrew proposed to his fiancée, Sam around the same time Patrick proposed to Jen, and it has been so wonderful to walk this path along side them.
Avery Gerber
Flower Girl
Avery has been such a light in Jen and Patrick's life. A member of the exclusive Sleepover Squad, Avery is a joy to be around. She is a very happy girl, almost always smiling. She is Katherine and Neil's daughter and made Jen an auntie! Born in San Diego while Jen and Patrick were up in the Bay Area, they are grateful they were able to see her quite a bit in her early months. Even though she is currently living in Puerto Rico, they have been able to see her almost every month since they moved away. Avery will be 20 months old at the time of the wedding.
Luke Platon
Ring Bearer
"I will guard the rings with my life!" was Luke's response as he was asked to be a part of the big day. Chase and Lisa's son, born and raised in Dallas, Luke is the first (and only) nephew and grandchild on the Platon side. Luke will easily be the most handsome Platon at the wedding. Though far away, Luke is always up for a FaceTime chat to show off all his new toys, which always brightens Jen and Patrick's day. Be sure to ask Luke about his favorite cars, and buckle up for the conversation of your life! Luke will be 4 1/2 years old at the time of the wedding.
Neil Gerber
Officiant
Neil (married to Katherine) has been apart of the Aftanas side of the family for many years now. He has been more than a brother-in-law, he is a brother to Jen. He is always there to offer his advice and wisdom, whether that is in work or life. Neil welcomed Patrick to the family with open arms and has been instrumental in facilitating their move to San Diego. He has taken the time to get to know Patrick as his own person, so it seemed only natural to have him officiate the wedding!
