Downtown Lakeland offers a quaint block with restaurants and bars, all within walking distance of the hotel. Suggestions include: -Frescos for lunch or dinner -The Federal -Patio 850: just a 2 minute drive from downtown but great outdoor seating and a fun vibe -Red Door: quaint restaurant and bar with a patio and live music -Mister Fish Sandwiches: total hole in the wall, walk up joint that has been there since 1968- a good, quick lunch option if you want to order and sit out by the lake! -Mitchell's Coffee shop or Black and Brew -Lakeland Loft: new, cool jazz bar in downtown- website says "business casual" attire -Cobb and Pen: fun bar in a historic, older house -Check out the Polk Theatre, a historic theater from 1921!
Though there are a ton of great lakes and parks to explore in Lakeland, if you're looking for a fun trail to hike this is a perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors! Just be on the lookout for alligators, specifically the infamous 15 foot alligator whose video went viral last year. (See it here: http://abcn.ws/2jDA2Bj)
Downtown Lakeland's Saturday farmer's market is just a short walk from the Terrace Hotel. This is such a fun spot for to go for breakfast and treats, coffee, shopping, or just enjoying the sunshine! This is one of Jen's parents favorite weekly spots!
If you are looking for shopping, food or movies, Lakeside Village is a great spot for everything. It's also home to one of our favorite Lakeland Bars, The Brass Tap. Connor highly recommends Burger 21 or Louis Papas-- these are two of our favorites when we're in town!
