Jemelynn: From the moment we met online on August 22nd, a strong connection formed that neither of us could ignore. Every day leading up to our first date, we couldn’t help but text each other non-stop, each message making me more excited and nervous for our first date. When the day finally arrived, I met Alec at a cute park near the UW-Madison campus, and as I walked toward him, I was struck by how truly handsome he looked. We greeted each other with a cute and shy "hello." Then we walked to the nearest Qdoba and found a bench at the park to sit. That evening we ended up talking for hours. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and I felt so completely at ease with him. I remember thinking at that moment, I never wanted the date to end, not knowing it was just the beginning of a love story I had always dreamed of. Alec: We were touring New York City for a night and I had big plans. We started the day off by walking around Times Square and Central Park, we had such a good time exploring the city. Eventually, we moved on to a few other gardens along the way toward the pier. One beautiful garden was St. Luke in the Fields Garden. We held hands and walked down an aisle of flowers under a green canopy of leaves. She never expected me to turn to her, express my love for her, and get on one knee with rushing adrenaline. I pulled out the ring box I had carefully kept hidden, opened it, and asked her the big question. She said yes, and it was the happiest moment of my life! We joyfully embraced, hardly believing the amazing things we know are ahead of us. Then I was able to reveal that I had set us up with a secret photographer so we were able to do a whole engagement photoshoot. The photographer left us at the foot of the Michelin star restaurant I had a reservation for us at. We enjoyed the food, and then rushed over to an off-Broadway show to finish the night! This day was out of a fairy tale and I wouldn't change anything for the world. Alec: Estábamos recorriendo la ciudad de Nueva York por una noche, y yo tenía grandes planes. Nos abrazamos con alegría, casi sin poder creer todas las cosas increíbles que sabemos que nos esperan. Después, le pude revelar que había organizado un fotógrafo secreto para capturar el momento, así que hicimos una sesión completa de fotos de compromiso. El fotógrafo nos dejó en la entrada de un restaurante con estrella Michelin donde tenía una reservación para nosotros. Disfrutamos muchísimo la comida y, después, corrimos a un espectáculo off-Broadway para cerrar la noche. Ese día fue como sacado de un cuento de hadas, y no cambiaría absolutamente nada por nada en el mundo.
