“Old Timey Formal” Explained!

We’re going for a classic, romantic, timeless, whispers of eras past…old timey vibe, without being costumy. Think Steam Punk minus the gears or “Gone With The Wind” minus the racism. Think Victorian-era minus Jack the Ripper. More old time whimsy, less “Lord of the Rings”-y. And if you are not sure, you can always fall back on classic styles in autumnal colors. We will be outside at a farm, so be sure to wear sensible, sexy shoes that can handle grass and gravel, and for tons of dancing, of course! Also, check the weather before as you may want to bring a layer to wear at night.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

There are a few informal chances to see us a bit more should it fit into your travel plans. We will be going to brunch on Sunday and would love to say farewell in RVA to anyone leaving later on Monday. Other than our semi-pro tour leading skills and amazing personalities, these additional “events” are casual and not hosted. For more info, go to the “RSVP & Event Info” page and enter your name.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Get in the old-timey mood right away by catching one of the trolleys to the ceremony! Trolley schedule - the Trolley will depart each location at the following times: Best Western 3:15pm & 4:00pm Cottages Stop 3:30pm (located at 45 Spring Street - if it's raining and you want to drive to this Trolley stop, you can certainly park there) Hope & Glory 3:35pm Venue Parking (476 Fleet’s Bay Road) 4:10pm (alternatively, it is somewhat walkable as it’s at the next farm over) Vans will be available to take you back to your lodging or car starting at 9:30pm.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

If you are planning to drive, arrive around 4:00 PM to give yourself enough time to park at 476 Fleet’s Bay and catch the Trolley to the ceremony site.

Can I bring a date?

If we invited you, you are welcome to bring a plus one. If we didn’t invite you, we’re not really sure why you are reading this. As an aside, if you are single and come solo, it would leave you open to potentially meeting the love of your life…just saying…we only have amazing people as our friends! In any case, we just need to know before August 1.

Order your free take home tests here https://www.covid.gov/tests and save one or two for just before flying and attending the wedding. As the event gets closer, we will update everyone on our plan to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.

Where do I park if I’m driving to the venue?

Answer

Parking for the venue is located at 476 Fleet's Bay Road, the next farm over. On Saturday, please park prior to 4:10pm to take the Trolley to the venue (see Trolley schedule below). Alternatively, it is walkable should you miss the Trolley.
