Flight
There are two main airports, San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK). SFO will be more convenient to our venue (the SF Zoo) and other sight-seeing opportunities in San Francisco.
Travel Note
For the safety and comfort of everyone, especially our older or immunocompromised guests, we kindly request that all in-person attendees have received a vaccination and booster dose for COVID-19.
Hotel
We don't have a specific hotel recommendation, but those looking to do some sight-seeing in San Francisco may find staying on the north side of the City more convenient to tourist destinations like the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and classic-style streetcars. Guests wanting to be close to the airport have many options on the Peninsula south of San Francisco. Airbnb rentals are also a good option.
Train
Public transit in the Bay Area is split over a few agencies, but they all take payments through the Clipper Card system, which can be conveniently added to your phone via Google Pay or Apple Pay. You can follow the instructions at the Clipper Card website and be able to travel by BART, Muni, and CalTrain.
Travel Note
Bring layers! San Francisco's famously cold summer weather can roll in from the sea during the afternoon. Our venue is very close to the ocean and will be significantly colder and foggier than areas inland. Expected temperatures range from 50-70F.
