Question

How do we get to the reception?

Answer

Enter through the main San Francisco Zoo entrance on Sloat Blvd. Show your event ticket at the front gate to enter the zoo, and follow the signs to Playfield Lawn. It's a grassy area near some trees, past the Eleanor Friend Playground and a series of bronze animal sculptures.

Question

If I am driving, can I park?

Answer

There is parking at the zoo parking lot which will be covered for guests (take a ticket and it will be validated), as well as more plentiful free parking lining Sloat Blvd, both street parking and lot parking, for those willing to walk a block or two to the entrance. Show your event ticket at the front gate to enter, and follow the signs to Playfield Lawn.

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

Comfortable dressy casual attire suggested. Due to the nearby cold ocean water, it can be chilly (potentially in the 50s if it's foggy), so bringing layers is a good idea. Sun protection is recommended, though we will have shade available. Sharp heels may sink in the grass.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We don't have a specific hotel recommendation, but those looking to do some sight-seeing in San Francisco may find staying on the north side of the City more convenient to tourist destinations like the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and classic-style streetcars. Guests wanting to be close to the airport have many options on the Peninsula south of San Francisco. Airbnb rentals are also a good option.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We’ll have lawn games and of course the zoo itself is very family-friendly. Playfield Lawn is near a playground and tactile animal sculpture exhibit.
