Meeting online never seemed like a fairy tale to me, it was convenience. It's still a running joke that I was paying for a subscription, had been on the site for 2 years, and Jeremiah doesn't pay a penny and meets me after a month! Jeremiah contacted me first and we chatted for a couple weeks. Then Alyssa, the oldest of our kids, talked me into meeting up with him in Port Canaveral at a fishing tournament weigh in. She went with me and Jeremiah had Tyler. We all ended up having a great afternoon! We have been together since that day. THE PROPOSAL.... For Jeremiah's birthday in September of 2017, I surprised him with an upcoming NYE trip to Vegas. The real surprise was on me! After a long day of travel and other events, Jeremiah and I, along with our good friends Chad and Amber, went walking up to the Bellagio. They seemed to be REEALLYY fascinated by the fountains. We had just caught the tail end of the show and they insisted we stick around for 15 minutes until the next one started. I, on the other hand, was exhausted and felt like we needed to keep moving. I also commented on us already seeing the "sprinklers" and I think that's where the original proposal plan was delayed until later in the weekend. On New Year's Eve, we all enjoyed dinner and wine at Charlie Palmer's in the Four Seasons hotel at Mandalay Bay. As we were leaving, there was a beautiful grand staircase so we stopped for what I thought was a photo opportunity. Boy, was it! Jeremiah proceeded to get down on one knee and ask me if I'd be his "pain in the ass" forever. His big speech that he prepared had gone right out the window. But, how could I say no to that?! We proceeded to enjoy VIP service on the rooftop of the Paris Chateau, where we all celebrated and danced the night away. I'll never forget it! Ups and downs, left and rights, but solid in our relationship and a solid belief in our future. We've blended a beautiful family and look forward to all of our days!
