FAQs

Question

When can we see you?

Answer

Please refer to the Schedule page. We would love to meet up with our friends and family in the Salzburg City area on the Wednesday and/or Thursday leading up to the wedding weekend. Friday morning we will transition to Maria Alm for the start of more formal events!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

While we love the little kiddos, our wedding ceremony and reception venue, Tom Almhütte, is logistically complicated. It is only reachable by a gondola that will only be running at certain times of the night. We want to maximize the time spent celebrating with our friends and family and don't want to lose anyone early in the night taking the gondola down to the village to do bed time. For this reason, young children are not invited to Saturday's events. HOWEVER, we understand that some families who are making the trip across the pond want to take a memorable family vacation and kids will be in tow. We are working with the Eder Group (owners of Sepp Hotel, Tom Almhütte) on possible childcare solutions that include families or children staying at the EderFrida family hotel (same ownership), located right next to the Sepp Hotel. Details forthcoming.

Question

What is the dress code

Answer

Friday Welcome Night- trachten night! Wear your dirndl or lederhosen if you have. Otherwise, casual chic! Saturday Wedding - garden, cocktail, or semi-formal attire, but most importantly, be you and be comfortable! Sunday Early AM After Party - Festival wear? That costume you've always wanted to bust out? Be you, be comfy, be creative.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

Austria can be a wildcard in summer. It can be 50° Fahrenheit and raining or it can be 95° Fahrenheit and sunny. For reference, Salzburg gets more precipitation than London, so bring rain gear and bring layers and hope for the best. Summer evenings can typically be about 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than an NYC summer evening for reference, so it's good to keep a light sweater or jacket on you in the evenings. Maria Alm and the wedding venue have elevations between 2,600-4000ft, so this area is even cooler than Salzburg City. The good news is that rain or shine, Austria is beautiful no matter what!

Question

How can I get updates about the wedding weekend?

Answer

We will be creating a WhatsApp community for our guests where reminders and announcements will shared and sub groups for things like travel
