First time in SoCal? Take a visit to the mouse house, Disneyland! If you are visiting both California Adventure and Disneyland, we recommend visiting for at least 2 days. Beware: you WILL be walking all day, so wear comfy shoes!
Want a boba pick me up? This spot has great caffeine-free options as well as tea drinks.
This boba spot out in San Gabriel Valley is owned by a Youtuber we would enjoy watching. Their creative flavors, like Strawberry Corn or Black Sesame Milk, are hard to find at any other boba shop.
Crispy layers of buttery goodness await! While there is usually a line, it moves quickly, but the store will sell out later in the day, so get here early.
This family-owned Cuban cafe has us packing our suitcases with Cheese Rolls, Meat Pies, Plantain Chips, and Dolce De Leche Cake. This makes things awkward with TSA as they stop us to "test" our treats for "suspicious goods."
The San Gabriel Valley has many great spots to eat, but this Cantonese restaurant really stands out to us for its authentic flavors, classic duck, and crispy pork belly.
Any time we are craving Korean BBQ, we go to this spot, get the beef set, and have a feast! We usually like to get a 2nd round of steamed egg as well as garlic slices to eat with our beef. While there is also a location in K-Town this is closer to our wedding festivities and less crowded.
This place exceeded Jeff's expectations and changed Jacqueline's mind about not liking raw crab because it was just that fresh and good. While you're in K-Town, go enjoy some karaoke! Reservations are strongly recommended as this is a very small space. Parking may be valet in the evening/weekend.
Cheers! When you have your Downtown LA day, be sure to head to our favorite cocktail bar and grab a drink or two in their cute back patio space. Note: while this is also a restaurant, we haven't had any of their food before, and it seemed a bit gringo-catered to us.
