Maid of Honor
Laura and the bride go way back - they met in 1986 and have been close ever since. She is an excellent little sister, and has served well as Maid of Honour (though she has been trying - unsuccessfully - to redefine the title as "Top Woman Supreme"). Laura is always in Brennan's corner. Trained in art history, and currently pursuing a Master of Library and Information Studies, she enjoys tennis, cross-country skiing, backgammon and pickles.
Best Man
Chris and Jeff have been friends since 1991, when they discovered their mutual love of Lego. This was followed in later years by a shared affinity for the Lion King, after-school project about ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, and eventually, beer and talk about more grown up subjects. From Winnipeg to Northern Italy to Pennsylvania and beyond, Chris and Jeff have enjoyed many good times and cured meats together.
Bridesmaid
Louise and Brennan have been friends since they were about two, as they lived just down the street from one another. They went on to share the same classrooms at school, including in the International Baccalaureate program in high school, and have had an enduring friendship. Louise is a former competitive swimmer, actuary and a Hal Johnson impersonator. She is mom to three beautiful little ones who will be flower girls and ring bearer at the wedding.
Groomsman
Kristjan is Jeff's little brother. He and Jeff share a special bond and a mutual appreciation of Lord of the Rings, rúllupylsa, walks in the woods, and staying up and chatting with a rum and coke. He and Jeff have had some of their best shared times camping and hiking together across western North America. In his leisure time he likes to go fly-fishing, hunting, and enjoys reading, soccer, and piano. Kristjan's goal when he graduated high school was to own a yacht. Eighteen years later, he now owns a used canoe. He's happy.
Bridesmaid
Leanne and Brennan met in 2014 at work, where they soon developed a pattern of shared coffee breaks and then graduated to brunches, walks, and close friendship. Leanne hails from Deloraine, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg to pursue university, including a Master's in political science. She enjoys discussing movies, brunching with friends, reading, cycling, and long walks on the beach (or in Assiniboine Park).
Groomsman
Steve and Jeff have been friends since junior high, when they realized that they had a lot to talk about. The two of them have a great deal in common, including a shared interest in the Sopranos, current events, snappy dressing and what's going on in each other's lives. They spent their high school years in the International Baccalaureate program, and to this day enjoy spending time together talking about various subjects from politics to movie trailers over wings, coffee, or more recently, Zoom.
Bridesmaid
Carolyn and the bride have known each other for a very long time - elementary school days - and their joint love of puns, summer weekends at Blueskies and other fun has sustained their long friendship. Care and Brennan went on to grad school at Queen's at the same time, and having that piece of home in Kingston was wonderful. Carolyn has a love of cozy blankets, adorable dogs and the Toronto Raptors.
Bridesmaid
Emily and Brennan have been friends since school days. They travelled to New York together on the high school art trip and their friendship continued to evolve in art school. Back then, Emily was a ceramics major by day and a military reservist in the evenings and on weekends, where she played trumpet in the Winnipeg Rifles Band. Emily and Brennan enjoy chats on summer patios, talking gardening and swapping houseplants, travelling together (especially to wineries) and celebrating each other's milestones, and will surely continue to do all of that together for a long time.
